Liam's scream was filled with anger and desperation as he threw the TV to the floor, the screen shattering upon impact.
His mind raced with thoughts, trying desperately to deny the reality.
'It has to be a lie. They must have made up this story...'
'Perhaps Mom fabricated this so we can finally escape this cursed place,'
'It must be that. There's no way this is real.'
Overwhelmed, Liam bit down on his lip hard, so hard that he tasted blood in his mouth.
Ding Dong!
The house bell rang. But Liam was too busy, lost in his state of denial and seated amidst the shattered remnants of the furniture.
As he sat there, his body suddenly shook.
He turned his head to see Uncle Lex standing there.
"Uncle, I just saw the news saying Mom is..."
Liam's voice trailed off, unable to complete the sentence.
