Liam nodded in approval. "That's good, Derek. You should try out the practice area here."
Derek replied, his tone indicating his eagerness, "Yeah, I've heard about it from Berto."
"I'll wait for Layla to finish her transformation, and then we can go together."
Liam responded, "Alright. I will check on Layla."
He then stood up as Elly followed behind him, walking upstairs to Layla's room and giving it a knock. "Layla, it's me."
From inside, Layla's voice called out, "Come in, Liam. You're finally back!"
Liam opened the door, his eyes quickly adapting to the darkness. "Have you eaten yet?"
Layla reassured Liam with a light smile, "Don't worry, they've been sending me food three times a day."
She then gestured towards the couch beside her.
Liam moved and took a seat beside Layla.
The room was simple and modest.
Layla, her voice tinged with affection, "Have you seen Derek? He's already become an Ascendant."
