As the creatures approached Liam, they came to a sudden halt, their varied eyes fixated on him, radiating desperation and hope.
The wolf, a large creature with sleek gray fur with 1.7 m height (5.5ft), stepped forward. It spoke with a voice laden with emotion.
"Benefactor, thank you for saving us ."
The wolf hesitated, casting a glance back at the other creatures.
Then, turned back to Liam, its voice wavered slightly, "If it's not too much to ask of you, could you grant them a merciful end? "
Liam, taken aback, responded, "End your lives? Have you truly given up all hope? I am sure there is a cure out there."
A humanoid figure, its body grotesquely merged with insectoid features, spoke up, its voice raspy. "Had you come sooner, we might choose that option. But we've endured this beastly existence for far too long. We just want it to end."
