Liam leaned back in his chair, a mischievous smirk on his lips. "No sex slaves, then?"
Caught off guard, Berto mumbled, initially avoiding eye contact, "Well, I might acquire a few... They're not solely for pleasure, you know. They can be quite useful as infiltration agents."
Both Liam and Elly turned their gazes towards Berto, their expressions a blend of amusement and disbelief.
"Don't give me that look," Berto protested. "I will train them as spies. Their... previous skills are very effective for intelligence gathering."
Liam chuckled. "Yeah, right,"
Elly couldn't help but chime in. "It's hard to believe that's your main motive."
Their banter faded into the background as the auctioneer's voice signaled the end of the current session. The rapid bids and counter-bids had come to a temporary halt.
