Liam's eyes warmed as they met Layla's, "Thank you, Layla," he murmured, fingers wrapping around the cool glass.
He lifted it, the juice's citrusy scent wafting upwards, as he took a generous sip.
Derek playfully complained, "Hey, where's mine, sis?"
Layla, her brows arching playfully, retorted, "Make it yourself."
With a dramatized roll of his eyes and an exaggerated huff, Derek stood up, "Alright, alright, I'll make it myself. You're clearly playing favorites."
Liam's eyes twinkled with amusement, watching their playful exchange.
Layla turned back to Liam, her eyes carefully seeking any sign of injury. Seeing him seemingly unscathed, aside from a light sheen of sweat and grime from the battle, a gentle exhale of relief escaped her. "So, what happened out there?"
Liam paused, placing the glass down. "Hmm, let's wait for Derek to rejoin us, so I don't need to tell it twice."
