Desmond's eyes widened in panic. "Wait a moment!" He exclaimed, raising his hands in a placating gesture.
"What if we could negotiate? I could be of use to you, especially if you're looking to buy some time."
Liam's eyebrow arched suspiciously. "Elaborate."
Desmond took a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heart. "When we're on capture missions like this, we're typically prepared to hunker down for a while. You never really know how long it might take for the target to return."
"Our standard protocol is to remain in the vicinity for at least a week. If the target doesn't show up by then, we'll install surveillance cameras and leave just one operative behind to monitor the area."
