'I can get stronger? But how?' thought Darius, trying to make sense of the message which had just appeared in front of him.
He wondered why that option hadn't shown earlier.
However, he didn't know what he would get by using that Life Essence to get stronger.
He had a small idea as to what would happen, but he couldn't be sure now could he?
Before making any sort of choice, he decided that it would be best to ask Ashe about it.
Then, as he was about to call for her, she appeared on his right as if knowing that he had a question.
"Why did those goblin's bodies disappear again?" asked Ashe, not letting Darius pronounce a single word.
"Uh, isn't that normal?" asked Darius, not sure why she was asking that.
"Of course, it isn't. Earlier I thought that it was because you awakened that the goblin disappeared, but it happened again," she said, almost talking to herself.
'Maybe it's related to his system?'
However, she didn't want to talk to him about that as it was typical for people to hide as much as they could from others, especially when it revolved around their system.
Darius wasn't sure how to respond and simply gave a vague answer.
"I think it's related to a skill of mine," he said, clearly thinking about his [Life Steal] skill which he had just awakened.
"Makes sense," responded Ashe, nodding.
Then, Darius tried to start another topic of discussion as he carefully started talking.
"Um, um. Ashe, in a system in general, is there some sort of currency that people can use to upgrade their strength," asked Darius, trying to be as vague as he possibly could.
'A currency?' thought Ashe, right away, not sure what Darius meant by that.
'Wait there's no way, right?'
"What do you mean by currency?" asked Ashe, trying to make sure that what she was currently thinking was right.
"Like something which we can trade for another power, something like that," explained vaguely Darius as he also wasn't sure if what he was saying was clear.
Ashe's eyes seemed to be brimming with excitement as she immediately began asking him multiple questions.
Her interest in his system had now skyrocketed.
"Do you have a currency?"
"What can you do with it?"
"Did you already exchange it for more power?"
As questions kept coming out of her mouth, Darius simply looked at her dumbfounded as he couldn't grasp the change in her attitude.
Ever since meeting her, she had been composed and calm, but there she was acting like a kid.
Honestly, in Darius's opinion, it was as if she was treating him like a dog at the moment.
"Calm down, what's happening to you?" asked Darius, discreetly changing the subject as he didn't really want to answer those questions as he knew that they would be leading to other questions.
He didn't want to reveal his system's name after all.
"Darius you just don't understand, you're one of them."
'One of them, what is she even talking about?' thought Darius, confused about this whole matter.
"What do you mean by 'one of them'?" questioned Darius right away.
"Oh right, I forgot, you don't know anything about how amazing you are."
'I'm amazing? Maybe she didn't understand my explanation?' thought Darius, not sure if Ashe was overreacting at the moment.
"Basically, awakened who have systems that have what you called a currency are extremely rare and they even have a special title. I can't begin to imagine the rank of your system," said Ashe, waiting to see the reaction of Darius.
'Yeah, maybe she didn't understand what I said,' thought Darius as as he remembered that the rank of his system had been hidden,
So even if this information wasn't useful for him at the moment, then maybe it would be in the future.
In fact, maybe it was Darius who was wrong and maybe his system really was special. It's not like he could compare the one he had awakened to others as he knew absolutely no one in this world except Ashe which he had just met.
"People who have systems like yours are called Supremes. In fact, that should be your system's rank," said Ashe, revealing new information to Darius.
He just remembered that the rank of his system had been hidden, so he wasn't sure whether or not he was a Supreme as she said.
'So, what I am going to be the Supreme of? Eternal Life? Immortality?' thought Darius trying to make sense of what she was saying.
'And why was the system's rank hidden and not a Supreme one just like she said.'
The more Ashe explained the more Darius was convinced that his system wasn't anything like a Supreme one or whatever she had just called it.
However, before Darius could even place a word in, Ashe once again interrupted him.
"But, don't worry Darius I won't ask you what is it that you will be the best at," said Ashe with a big smile on her face.
Darius seeing that smile on her face didn't want to make her lose it, so he simply nodded.
"Um, well thanks I guess," said Darius, not wanting to say that there was a chance that he hadn't explained what he had well enough.
Maybe Darius was wrong and he really was going to be the best at immortality, but just thinking about it.
It seemed quite weird to be the best at that. It wasn't like many could achieve that.
Then, Darius once again looked at the message in front of him which asked him to choose between living longer or getting stronger.
'I can just use one goblin's body to see what the effect is going to be,' thought Darius as he knew that he had stolen the Life Essence of two other goblins.
Then, he simply thought of accepting the choice of getting stronger and a beeping sound resounded inside of his mind.
*BEEP*
[You have obtained one point of Strength.]
Darius reading this opened his system's interference to make sure that it really had added a point to his Strength.
Then, looking at his system. He smiled as it had worked, it was now supposedly stronger. Then, he wanted to test it out, wanting to see if he really had gotten a lot stronger or just a little.
This power-up was one month of Lifespan, after all, he needed to make sure that it was worth it.
