"I was their dog, they treated me as if I was some trash that they could throw away," muttered Darius, under his last breath. "I don't understand, haven't I always done what they wanted."
As Darius muttered those words, he could see blood coming out of the wound on his chest. He would die soon and he knew that very well.
A wound which had been made by one of his closest friends, a deadly wound which had been made without even flinching as if Darius was nothing more than an object that he was throwing away now that he didn't have its uses anymore.
He just didn't understand what he had done wrong, why did he have to be killed.
"Darius, you know that we always appreciated you, you were the best in your line of work, after all," said one of Darius's presumed friends, who was currently watching him bleed out.
"Then, why... WHY?" repeated Darius as he used the last strength in his body to shout those words.
"You know why, we simply didn't have any more use for you," said his presumed friend, giggling a little while saying that.
"You know Darius, we're sorry that you had to suffer so much under us, killing all our competition must have been hard," he continued.
Darius on the ground was furious when he heard those last words because they were true, he was their assassin, the one who would do all the dirty work.
Every time that had asked him to kill a competitor or some random competitor, he would do so without even a doubt in his mind because those people in front of him were his friend, the only ones who had cared for him ever since he was alive.
Then, as Darius wanted to speak up, he managed to muster some words as he could feel his mind starting to fade.
"I p-promise that no one would ever dictate what I do with my life. Never. Never again," he said in such a low tone, that no one around him could even hear him.
'Well, I guess I won't be able to, I'll be dead after all,' he thought, right after saying those words.
Then, his body lost all consciousness and all strength, and Darius was dead.
His soul which had been inside his body started to levitate out of his body raising over his body.
He was now in some sort of astral form, being able to see and think while being outside of his body.
'What's happening? Aren't I supposed to be dead?' thought Darius as he could see his dead body on the ground completely lifeless, with his presumed friends currently laughing around it, not caring in the least about his death.
"Look at him, he actually thought that we cared about him, he was stupid. He really was the best slave that we had," said the same friend who had stabbed him.
"Those fucking bitches, if only I had my body back, you would all be dead by now," said Darius who was completely furious over the current situation.
If only he had known that they were going to do such a thing, he would have killed them instead, it's not like he wouldn't have been able to.
He was trained in martial arts and knew best how to assassinate someone, there was literally no doubt in his mind, that he would be able to kill all of them without even batting an eye.
Then, as he kept thinking about how to kill them, he suddenly picked up speed upwards, away from his body, getting further and further away from this current situation.
Who knew where he was going? Hell? Paradise?
He had to admit that he had done some pretty questionable things in his life, but he hoped that he would at least be able to get into Paradise, well... if it existed.
Then, as he kept flying up, he could start to see the round shape that he had been living on. He was able to see Earth in its integrity.
"Darius, Darius Carter."
'What is this voice?' thought Darius as he could hear his name being called inside his mind, it was a strange sensation.
"Come," the voice said in his mind.
Then, his astral body which had been going upward towards who knows where completely changed direction in an instant and accelerated.
'Woah, what's happening,' thought Darius, as he didn't understand the change in speed and direction.
There were so many weird things happening to him at the moment, but Darius guessed that was what happened when someone died.
The voice, the astral body, he thought that all those things were normal and represented the start of the afterlife.
Moving fast, he passed by stars and planets.
It made him realize that he was a small being in this gigantic universe.
'Wait, what's this?' he thought as he could see a white room not that far away from him, it was shining in this dark atmosphere, catching his eye instantly.
Its shape also caught Darius's eyes as it was a white rectangular shape, completely different from all the round planets which he had just seen.
'W-woah, slow down, slow down,' he thought, as he seemed to be going even faster in the direction of that white rectangle.
Then, he arrived right in front of the white rectangle, and he completely stopped. No matter how much he wanted to move, he wasn't able to.
"You can enter," resounded the voice once again, inside his mind.
A small opening in this massive white rectangle appeared, and Darius's soul entered it.
"Wow."
That was the only word that came out of his mouth when he saw the person that was in front of him.
"Darius, come sit," said the white-haired person in front of him.
She then made appeared two chairs and a table out of thin air.
'Huh, what's happening? How did she do that?' thought Darius.
"It's simple, I just created them," responded the beautiful white-haired female.
'Wait she can read my mind?'
"Yes, of course, I can, Darius. I was the one that talked to you on your way here. I was also the one who decided that you shouldn't be sent to Hell."
'So, I was going to Hell, huh?' thought Darius, realizing that he had lived a life as a piece of shit.
But, then the white-haired woman showed signs of disagreement seeing Darius's face and reaction.
"However, I didn't agree with the choice that the universe made, so I brought you here," she said nonchalantly as if everything she had just said was something that she did daily.
