The group laughed and boasted as they sat next to the campfire with logs behind their backs.
Dachi stood up and raised his glass into the air.
"Cheers to the team we have built with our teamwork, responsibilities, and the history we shall forge in our memories. We are Squadron D for a reason, we are a family. . . whether we act like one or not. I'm glad to be with you all." He said as he swiftly drunk the wine, as everyone cheered to their newfound bond.
Fennel walked into the camp with a frail look on her face as she fell near own of the logs, as she raised her bottle up with an annoyed look on her face.
"Alright everybody, let's take a moment to get to know each other a little bit better if were going to be a true team, so I'm just gonna go first.
I'm Fennel, and I'm a 24-year-old Saiyan who hopes to find a way to end the changes in history. I also love scarfs." she said as she tossed the bottle towards Kijiru, who caught it with his tail.
"I'm Kijiru, and I'm a 23-year-old Arcosian, who used to be a researcher in the laws of Ki. I'm married to a Majin, and I was raised by the Tuffle clan and the namekians" He said as he threw it towards Dachi.
"Whatup ya'll? I'm Dachi, Im a Namekian and I into fightin shit. . . and I'm a bag chaser. . . that's about it." he said as he stretched his arm to Jay.
"I'm Jay, and I'm a Saiyan who loves pullin bitches on the side." He said as he threw the bottle to N.57.
"Hello everyone! Im N.57, and I'm and android made to support and heal my team!" She said as they all smiled except Fennel.
N.57 glanced over at her as she leaned over towards her.
"What's wrong Fennel? You seem upset."
". . . Guys. . . We're gonna be stuck here for a while." She said as her voice slightly croaked.
Everyone looked at her, as a feeling of anguish crawled up their backs.
"W-what the hell do you mean stuck here? We have the portal!" Kijiru said as he snatched hastily snatched up Fennel.
Fennel could see the desperation in Kijiru's eyes. They were filled with panic, fear, and a small spec of delusion.
But Kijiru would see something different. He didn't see the arrogant jerk he met in training.
He saw a person who had lost all hope.
His grip loosed as he closed his eyes and dropped fennel onto ground.
There's nothing we can do.
