Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Journey Continue...

May 2013

Malaysia

Azrin pondered this while writing in his journal, "Hmm, all the Laasuks in Perlis, Pinang Island, and Kedah are done being devoured by me; there is no survivor." To prevent himself from feeling too lonely, he has made it a habit to converse with himself when traveling.

Next is Perak. After taking a sip of his coffee, he packed his bag and continued on his adventure, and while doing so, he created his workout routine. Considering that he had nothing to do, he might as well. His workout routine consists of:

Monday: Push, Cardio (Front).

Tuesday: Pull; Back Cardio.

Wednesday: Leg, Cardio (Lower).

Thursday: Combat Learning, Cardio (Body Conditioning), and Martial Art Lesson

Friday: Blacklight training and cardio (researching his power).

Sunday and Saturday are designated as days of rest.

He is confident in his skills, but he still wants to practice because he doesn't want to rely too heavily on his blacklight power, and he also wants to see whether strengthening his physical body and also doing martial arts can make him even stronger.

He has classified his blacklight power to help with split decisions; in order to use his blacklight, he must pronounce the name of his power. Additionally, he thinks it is cool, so there is another reason he wants to say it. If you were granted power such as Rasengan, Sharingan, or Bankai, for instance, wouldn't you want to pronounce it out loud like "BAN-KAI"? Amazingly cool.

He wondered why there were no survivors—not even one—as he crossed the road to Perak in the center of the traffic. Humans are creatures by nature capable of adapting to any environment or condition, even in times of peace. However, if they were suddenly under attack from all sides, their survival instincts would prompt them to take action. Obviously, not all people will survive despite their best efforts, and this is how humanity progresses.

Given that humanity's progress has been at a standstill for a while, perhaps ROB is also behind this invasion in an effort to drive humans to progress. Humanity has become sluggish and content with its current way of existence. The world will change as a result of the emergence of superpowers, for better or worse. Azrin also believed that he was nothing remarkable due to the fact that his power was only average—versatile, maybe, but average all the same. If he acquired a superpower, the remaining survivors would likewise do so.

Because of this, he trains to at least increase his strength to a superhuman level. In addition, he is aware that, like him, every other survivor will work hard and take whatever necessary precautions to ensure their survival, and he too will follow this course of action. His new motto or way of life will be, "Himself is first; he is more important than everyone else."

He will assist any survivors he comes across, but he won't go so far as to risk his life—that would be foolish, and he'll make an effort not to be foolish. Since he was a little child, Azrin has been an introvert; while he can mingle with ease, he prefers to avoid it when he can. He is more of a guy who listens than talks. He is also selfish, but not to the point where he would compromise his morals; he will assist anyone in need without jeopardizing his safety.

Since he began walking to Perak a week ago, he has followed the same schedule each day. Additionally, he didn't come across any Laasuks, Kraexil, or survivors. Nevertheless, he didn't give up because Malaysia is a large country, so he knew that he would undoubtedly find survivors when cleaning the states. On his route, he came across a demolished R&R or highway rest stop, where typically, if you are on a lengthy road trip, you can stop to eat or sleep.

The majority of the commodities are damaged by the bullet rain, but he tries to recover any canned food or water that is still usable in the R&R. He then makes the decision to set up camp there since, well, it's an old resting place, and it might as well be now as night is falling. He kind of makes it a rule to stop and set up camp when it gets dark.

It's been three months now. He has already searched most of Perak for survivors but has been unsuccessful in doing so; he would not accept the notion that there are none in Malaysia. Azrin is trying to be hopeful; perhaps the survivors who are still alive manage to travel to other nations, or perhaps everyone has fled to other states and barricaded themselves inside. But he began to feel anxious deep within his heart. While he may be introverted, he doesn't necessarily want to be by himself.

Azrin must mingle once every several weeks or he will become gloomy because humans are by nature sociable beings. He had a lot of negative thoughts before the world was destroyed, but his mother and friends were always there for him, but now...

'Welp', Azrin thought.

He could always make invisible pals, as in a Castaway movie, but it is his last resort; for the time being, he will continue conversing with himself.

So, for his own sanity, Azrin decides to stay in Perak for a few months to experiment with his blacklight power. I am first and I am more important than everyone else is his motto, so he chooses to go at his own pace and take in the scenery.

He experimented with a variety of anime techniques, such as manipulating elements like in ATLA, but it didn't work. He attempted to make the mana flow through his veins like the isekai manga he had read or the wuxia manhua, but neither method was successful. Perhaps he doesn't grasp the idea, the world's rules don't operate that way, or it's simply a skill issue. He tries a lot of different things, regardless.

Additionally, he wants to learn One Piece martial arts like Rokushiki and Hashouken because it is one of his favorite animated series. He attempted to apply real-life rules and logic to these martial arts; why did he subject himself to this? because he is free to do so and because he has all the time in the worlds. He begins by studying Rokushiki, which consists of six moves: Geppo (Moonwalk), Tekkai (Iron Body), Rankyaku (Tempest Kick), Soru (Shave), Shigan (Finger Pistol), and Kami-e (Paper Body). Even though Rokougan (Six King Gun) still exists, it is a combination of all Rokushiki; therefore, you must first learn and perfect those moves before you can even attempt to learn Rokougan.

(A/N: I will use the English name version.)

He first attempted to learn Iron Body, and the notion behind it was that you needed to manipulate your muscle and harden it, which is difficult if you lack Bio-kinesis power. In real life, you can harden your body by hitting it until your hand is hurt, letting it heal, and then repeating the process until your fist is hard because the skin on your hand hardens, which is one of the methods that humans developed through martial arts. My hands were at the sides of my waist as I assumed a horse stance, and I used the full force of my blacklight to tense every muscle in an attempt to harden them.

It's difficult at first because my muscles will rip and snap if I contract them too hard, but I keep doing it over and over again, and with the help of my ability to regenerate, I can go on for hours. I've been continuously doing it for weeks—three weeks, to be exact—while focusing only on one technique. I eventually succeeded in hardening my muscles, but I'm still unable to move since I have to focus on every muscle in my body.

I focused on my breath as I exhaled and inhaled, trying to maintain that focused state. It hurt, but I liked it. I finally have the ability to move while holding Iron Body after another week, but only one step at a time. He maintains the horse stance and moves one stride at a time, both hands at his waist. He moves quite slowly in order to keep his focus.

After a few additional days, he can finally walk normally, but he is still unable to make any explosive actions, such as a sprint or jump. He keeps up his Iron Body routine throughout his daily activities, including eating, sleeping, and bathing. He occasionally fails since it is difficult to focus nonstop; eventually, it will deactivate, requiring him to start over. Without using any explosive movement for nearly a week, he was able to maintain his body in the Iron Body state. He moves slowly in every situation, even while cleaning his teeth, which takes him ten minutes to complete while he is in the Iron Body state.

He can eventually maintain the Iron Body state while sprinting and jumping after another two months. You must multitask; thus, it is a learning process. He practiced multitasking every day while in the Iron Body condition in an effort to get his brain used to it. When he is satisfied with his development, he decides to put even more effort into his Iron Body. He turned on the Iron Body, engaged in intense shadow combat, and made notes about anything he could have done better.

One week later, he ceases his Iron Body workouts since he doesn't know how to make them more effective. He then switches to a new technique, Shave.

Shave is an extremely difficult technique that requires ten quick kicks to the ground. He tried it, but if someone were to look at him, it would appear that Azrin was trying to run but not running. Even with the force of a blacklight, he tried it for hours, but all he could do was leave craters where he had run. He, therefore, thought for a while and recalled that Luffy is a rubber man, and then he suddenly had an idea. He modified this method to comply with Earth's laws by using elastic energy, or stored power.

He had done it previously, though, when he was evaluating his build for strength and dexterity. The idea is straightforward: instead of running, he must jump, and he must leap forward with one foot. Right now, there are two points, A and B. Before jumping to point B, he must store energy in his right leg and release it. Then, when he is jumping to point B, he must store energy in his left leg and release it once more. To give the impression that he is teleporting, he must complete all of this in a single move and within a few seconds.

While explaining it is rather simple, actually performing it was extremely difficult. He took the first stride, but because he landed before gathering enough energy to propel himself forward, he became stuck at the second step. Despite his continued efforts, he is unable to move past the second step due to a skill issue. He worked on this move for nearly two weeks nonstop, leaving behind craters that damaged the surroundings and the structure.

Somewhere between those two weeks, he figures out how much energy he needs to spend, and from there, it's smooth sailing. He then used the Shave in a straight line, making it appear as though he was simply dissipating, but when he tried to change directions, things went terribly wrong for him because, well, physics. He broke his leg while trying to change directions. To avoid breaking his leg, he tried it again while really tightening his muscles, but it didn't work.

He then uses Iron Body with Shave, which is quite difficult. He must concentrate on pushing his muscles to their absolute maximum, releasing the energy, jumping with one leg while the other leg is reserving enough energy, and repeating it. He needed five months to complete the Shave in a straight line and an additional month to switch directions. He needed to keep the energy in his leg as long as possible while changing directions, and only once he was moving in the direction, he wanted to go could he release the stored energy in his leg, which is why it took him a month to change directions.

After that, he can finally rely on the Shave method like in the One Piece verse, so he switches to another one called the Moonwalk. Although it only took a few months, this one is shockingly simple. The idea behind this technique is simple: to use it, you simply need to kick the air incredibly hard. In a normal human body, this would be impossible, but given my current circumstances, HAH.

In order to do this, he employs the Shave technique, except he moves upward instead of forward. He holds a lot of energy in his leg and releases it, sending a shockwave through the air. His leaping force propels him up so quickly that he can't completely open his eyes. Because of the air resistance, his head is bent backward and his face gets incredibly nasty while jumping upward, so he stops for a bit to reconfigure himself and does it again, but this time with both Shave and Iron Body.

So, he tried it again, but this time, using Iron Body, he could control his muscles. After reaching his maximum height and beginning to float in the air, he kicks his other leg downward while pushing his torso higher, much like riding a bicycle uphill. He was raised higher by another shock wave that was produced. The first phase is finished.

In the second phase, you must go from jumping to running on air since you need to release the force much faster to move quickly. Start by jumping. Once you're floating in the air, gather a little energy in your leg and kick quickly downward, as though you were jogging or riding a bike, and then repeat.

To move quickly, you store energy in your bent leg, kick it backward to release it, and keep repeating it. The third phase is to stay floating in the air, which is easier than flying because you simply need to stay in one spot and kick your leg downward, like when you're trying to stay afloat on water. It took him three months to totally learn to fly without seeming weird.

He perceives the following move, called Finger Pistol, as a one-inch punch. With Shave and Iron Body, he tenses up his right arm and begins to build up a lot of energy, store it in his muscles, and then unleash it. He then delivered a one-inch punch with one finger held straight out like a gun. And just like when he was testing his str build when he extended his arms, a brief air spear appeared from one of his fingers. Then, using his finger like a gun to really make holes, he tried it on the tar road, the concrete barrier, the exterior of the car, and anything else he could get his hands on.

To use it effectively in battle, it took him around three days to familiarize himself with the Finger Pistol. Additionally, it differs somewhat from his str build, where his punch leaves a charred rail-road mark. After a couple more days of practice, he moves on to Paper Body, which is challenging because he has no idea how to execute it. He attempted to make his body limp, as in, relax to the point of being dead, but it didn't work.

How can I, a person with so much mass, move like grass or paper when my body is strong and muscular and contains compressed biomass? I attempted to perform drunken kung-fu-style moves where you appear to be staggering, but my body was still stiff, so I gave up on Paper Body and moved on to the following move, the Tempest kick.

The Tempest Kick is a concept that I use frequently, so learning it and using it in combat only takes about a week. It involves kicking the air so quickly and forcefully that you essentially produce an air projectile.

Using both my hands and legs, I experimented with several ways to execute the Tempest kick. I simply performed the kicks in the manner of a soccer kick or whenever I utilized my leg. For hands, I utilize the same technique as when I chop downward to produce the crescent air projectile; if I get used to it, I can practically use it whenever I want and spam it. I can also make an air blast with my hands by charging it, storing it in my arm, and then releasing it at the last second before my hands fully extend. Replicating this method in real life is a lot of fun.

Five of the Rokushiki techniques take him around nine months to learn—not to master. The only things he isn't studying are Paper Body (since he doesn't know how) and Six King Gun (because he needs to master all of Rokushiki in order to attempt it).

The martial technique he is most interested in learning about is Hashouken, which was developed by the Chinjao Family and is one of his favorites from One Piece. He does so for two reasons: first, Gura-Gura no Mi has the ability to produce seismic waves, whereas Hashouken only produces concentrated seismic waves; second, he admires White Beard, also known as Edward New Gate, a character from One Piece.

The concept of Hashouken is to control the vibration of one internal body in order to generate a shock wave. Since I've already generated a shockwave and have a general understanding of this martial art, I charge the blacklight on my right arm and vibrate it to the micro-level. In addition, I tensely charged my right arm until it began to quiver. Even after a minute, I continued to charge it and amplify the vibration. I then shifted the vibrating blacklight to my right fist and compressed it till it was so heavy that it was beginning to weigh down my right fist. My right hand begins to warp the area around it, creating a crater where I am standing. I then punched forward.

When he punches forward, the space in front of him bends as if it were soaking up all the energy Azrin expands, and suddenly it bursts. Ipoh, the capital city of Perak, was almost destroyed in a matter of seconds following a thunderous roar that seemed like space was being split apart. A massive sinkhole was made when land covering an area of 19,475 square kilometers (or 7519 square miles) was plunged underneath.

(A/N: this is a third POV, not Azrin because he doesn't know how much damage he has caused).

As the sinkhole continues to swallow an entire city underneath, Azrin instantly activates Moonwalk and soars as far as he can.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Azrin yells obscenities aloud after sinking an entire city in a careless blunder. He hopes he didn't send his own nation into the depths of the ocean. He then travels to Selangor, which is located directly south of Perak. He travels to Cyberjaya, a city in Selangor, in around ten minutes.

He then lands and tumbles to the ground. The adrenaline and the guilt were making his pulse beat extremely quickly. It takes him a few minutes to settle down completely. The bad news is that he completely destroys Ipoh City, but the good news is that he has learned how to utilize Hashouken.

'Argh, you're supposed to test it small first, you dumb monkey. All my stuff is now buried in that sinkhole', thought Azrin, cursing himself while still unable to move on from that accident.

Then, far away from him, he finds a group of Laasuks, and while contemplating the damage that he had done, he stares at them. He stood up and pondered,

'Well, it already happens, and as long as I'm safe, that's all that matters'.

Then he continued on his journey, taking out his frustration on any Laasuks he came across.
