A little while later.
After I got the diary, I went back to the room where the queen is. Upon entering, I saw her sitting in the same position back when I left her.
We had a quick conversation about the diary. She told me things about how her husband instructed her to inform me about it's existence.
And about the other book I got from the secret room, Her Majesty said that she didn't know anything about it.
That's weird...
As questions began popping up inside my mind, Her Majesty's voice got my attention.
"I know you are planning to heal her, so I wanted to thank you for that." She says to me.
"However..."
Her Majesty looked hesitant, at first. But she gathered herself and spoke up, "Can I ask a favor to you?" she asked with a hopeful expression.
Though a bit confused by her expression, I asked with a polite smile.
"What is it?"
"You know that my daughter is a half devil, isn't it...? What I'm trying to say, she'll be needing help in the future."
Tilting my head sideward, I blinked my eyes in confusion.
"Help about what?"
The Queen began fidgeting with her fingers, her eyes avoiding mine as her voice lowered as she continued.
"You see, my husband had already have his consent about this matter a couple of years ago. He said that you're the only who can handle our daughter."
"....."
...I don't like where this is going.
Though the feeling of uncertainty began to rise, I retained an impassive expression and waited for her to continue speaking.
"You must know that when devils come to a certain age, there's a possibility of them wreaking havoc."
I really don't like where this is going...!!
"And....?"
"I want you to impregnate my daughter to ease her symptoms."
"Pffftt-!!??"
As soon as I heard those words came out from her mouth, I almost chocked from the tea.
...Yep, I should have left earlier.
"What the fuck!? How can impregnating her help her condition?"
I mean, if she asked me to "do" her daughter, considering what I said back then to piss Maximus off at the party, I would have easily agreed... but asking me to put a life on her belly?
That's too much!
"That... I'm not sure either. My husband told me that it is to awaken her motherly instinct, or some sort. If ever she tries to destroy something, you can use her child as a threat whenever she lost herself."
I feel like that's a lie... That son of a bitch!
Taking a deep breath, I calmed myself before speaking, "How about the princess? Does she even know about this?"
"No. That's why I'm telling you this."
My hands continued to shake as I struggled to drink the remaining tea on my cup.
"Saber, I want you to seduce my daughter and make her fall for you just like what my husband did to me."
Knock! Knock!
Can I come in...?
Alice's voice was heard outside the door.
That's our cue.
Before the door could fully open, Her Majesty added, "As for my offer, you don't need to do it now... There's still a couple of more years left until she turn 20."
"Ummm...."
Alice entered just in time.
"I'll leave the care of my daughter to you."
As much as I wanted to refuse her right now, it does correlate with my initial plan of why I came her in the first place.
With that said, I'll just agree for now.
"Yes, mother."
"....."
"....."
As soon as I said those words, everyone became quiet.
***
"Yes, mother."
The atmosphere between the three of them suddenly became awkward as those words left his mouth.
"...!!"
Soon, he quickly realized his mistake as Saber embarrassingly tried to change his wording, only for him to make it much worse.
"...Wait! I mean, mom! Mommy... No, it's ma'am...! Madame! Madame, Your Majesty!"
Alice looked bright red in embarrassment, hands facepalmed, while her mother remained expressionless as she remained seated on her chair.
Her Majesty took a sip on her tea before returning her attention back to Saber.
"I must say, if my husband is still alive, you two would get along quite well..." she spoke, sighing deeply as she thought about her past.
Confused yet curious, Saber tilted his head and asked, "And why's that...?"
It took a brief moment for her reply. The two of their eyes interlocked with each other, her mouth opening slightly to speak.
"You said the exact same sentence he said to me during the wedding."
...
..
.
The next day, Saber and Alice were wandering alone on the castle.
While pushing her wheelchair, Saber decided to start a conversation.
"Hey, Your Highness?"
"No need for honorifics. Just call me Alice." The princess says, tapping her fingers as she hummed. She turned her head to look at the trees outside the window, winds blowing her hair as she tucked it to her ear.
"... Alright, Alice."
Though sounding hesitant, Saber immediately gave in as he knew that the girl would persist. Alice cleared out his throat, asking, "So what's your question?"
Saber turned quiet and thought for a bit, stopping his track before turning his attention outside the window in front of them.
"Do you still remember when you mentioned about the cult rising the other day?"
Her expression suddenly turned sour.
"Are they somehow connected to the Calamity?"
"Yes," she nodded her head, glancing towards him over her head. "The leader of the cult is a mysterious person. He leads his followers with the belief of Calamity."
"...In other words, they think of him as a savior."
"Yes, but... No."
"Explain~?"
"Well, they do think of him as a savior, but not in a good way. In a nutshell, they think that he was the one who created the Calamity in order to punish the world."
Saber pursed his lips, his eyes squinted. "If that's the case, then how do people believe that made up stuff he says?"
Alice looked unsure as she spoke with a tremulous voice, "...I don't know if this is true, but I heard that their Leader spoke about the future. He foreshadowed the appearance of the Boss Shadow Wolf and the catastrophic event that happened in the Central City. It was because of this, many people started believing his words."
"He predicted...?"
Saber's jaw dropped from the revelation.
No... How can that be? Originally, the boss that was supposed to appear is a Giant. Considering the casualties it caused during the original massacre in the novel, I decided to change the Boss into the Shadow Wolf I've defeated.
Saber thought to himself.
Creating a new cult that never existed in this world and him to be able to "predict" about the future events means that their Leader is a special anomaly like me.
Did he appear because of the butterfly effect I caused during the time I got transmigrated?
Or perhaps, he is transmigrated like me?
Question after question popped up inside Saber's head, causing more confusion. He began to feel an intense headache.
No... if that was the case, he couldn't have been able to "predict" about the appearance of the Boss.
Saber ruffled his hair as he thought deeply for an answer.
"...A regressor?"
That can't be the case...
However, Loki did got transmigrated inside the body of SABER. In any case, he, too, is an anomaly of the world.
Considering those possibilities, then there must be a chance a Regressor appearing because of Loki's appearance. A butterfly effect could have happened, to be exact.
"If that's the case, then I'm just repeating what the "other" me of the previous round..."
"Umm, what are you talking about?"
Saber pondered to himself. He chuckled by the thought of it happening, his expression becoming slightly contorted and disgust.
"This is exactly like my FATE theory, huh..."
Alice noticed the face he was showing. She didn't know why, but her body suddenly reacted tensely. Anger, guilt and disgust... It was one of the mixed emotions she could feel from him.
The color of his eyes looked shallow, though his glare remained sharp.
"Sir Romeo...?"
Fortunately, Saber calmed himself down and decided to change the subject. He sighed short but deep, asking her, "Sorry, if I'm intruding, but... why are you angry when mentioning their group."
"...You noticed that?"
"Yeah. I'm good at noticing small details." The glint of his eyes remained sharp. Saber wasn't lying this time, he does have the ability to do that.
"I see... Do you remember earlier when I mentioned that my father disappeared?"
"Yeah."
"Well, before he disappeared, he was investigating about those group."
"Huh, isn't he the king...? How can he just leave this Kingdom alone?"
Alice remained hesitant at first before she spoke, "My older brother took care of these things. My mother is not good leader, but he is. He must've gotten it from father, while my incompetence was from mother."
She paused for a couple of second.
"Nonetheless, I hate the Calamity more. It's also because of it, my father disappeared and this Kingdom almost fell into ruin."
"...."
"If only I can meet the person controlling this Calamity, I would kill him."
"Ah..."
"I don't care who that person is, I'll make sure to kill him slowly and make him experience the despair."
"I-I see..."
He didn't know why, but why he felt scared for some reason.
"Umm.... Romeo?"
Sweats began to appear on his forehead upon hearing Alice call out to him as Saber raised both his hands in a gesture.
"Y-yeah?"
"I can trust you, right?"
"Yeah... Absolutely!"
Alice, unbeknownst to herself, smiled gently as they went away. She raised a hand and planted it to her heart, feeling it beating faster.

[A/N : Originally, I intended to increase the chapter upload back to seven days... Though it seems like my health is still slowly deteriorating. NOT ONLY THAT, all my files got CORRUPTED, causing all the chapters from this and my other novels from the other sites that I've stacked up until now to DISAPPEAR into the vast of nothingness... Now, I have to write everything again.
Nonetheless, if you guys think that this novel has a plot hole, please do tell. I'll try to explain some of the stuff if you're confused.]
