"You did what I told you, didn't you?" Cale asked as he opened the facility door and stepped aside to let Amaris through.
"I did, but do you really think this is going to work?" she asked with little confidence in their plan. "Dante has always been stubborn. Do you think he'll come to you with a few words?"
Cale looked at Amaris as they walked through the falling snow. "Dante will come to me sooner or later anyway. I'm just shortening the time."
"Aren't you overconfident?" Cale's lips curled when she growled.
"What Dante needs is sincerity. Your words are just a little push in the back of the road he's already on."
"Even a stubborn bastard like Dante needs sincerity," she said and laughed. "And why did it have to be me?" she asked with a frown.
"Well, you had the perfect role for it. Since Perez, Aqua, or Reyna aren't here, you're the only one besides me who can talk to him."
