As they continued down the narrow road, the air became heavy and difficult to breathe.
Perez was breathing heavily because of the stifling air. He couldn't understand why the air was getting so stifled.
"Are you okay?" he asked Cale.
He wiped the sweat from his face with the back of his hand and nodded weakly.
"The air up ahead seems cleaner than here. Can you hold on a little longer?" he asked.
"Yes," he said, stumbling before he could take a step, and Cale grabbed him by the arm.
When Cale realized that he was too weak to walk, he grabbed him by the arm and pulled him onto his back.
"What are you doing?" Perez said between heavy breaths.
"I'm going to carry you on my back to where the sword is," he said nonchalantly.
"Hey, no need! I can walk on my own," he didn't let go of Perez's arm, who stepped back.
