The vines binding Soleria loosened as Edyth staggered in place with her pierced chest. When Soleria quickly freed herself from them, she looked around.
There was still a battle going on, but the enemy soldiers had greatly diminished and her eyes fell on someone. When she locked eyes with Cale, who was standing behind Edyth, she glared at him to be ready for her.
"You are really annoying!"
Edyth started to laugh, but her strength was fading fast. It was not a normal wound. It was an attack from chaos energy, and that energy was now taking over her whole body and attacking Edyth's mind.
Edyth had already been acting strangely during the war, losing her reason. Now she was about to be killed by those she had insulted. This made her very angry, but she continued to laugh loudly.
