After crossing the river, it became difficult to move through the dense forest. Suddenly they were freezing because it was winter and now they were sweating from the heat and humidity.
They sat down next to a water source they found in the middle of the forest.
Cale dipped his hand in the water and washed his face to cool his hot face. He refilled the water in his bottle and ate some of the food he had stocked up on for energy. Cale and Amy hadn't spoken since their last argument.
Cale ignored Amy completely and Amy obeyed Cale's silent orders. She was careful not to cause any trouble on her side, as her pride had taken a blow after that conversation.
