After Cale had been taken away, the field around Dante had been distorted so that he was visible again. Dante put what he had in the space pocket inside the wristband on his left hand. As he climbed the stairs and turned left, he saw Felix and Hope waiting outside the door of Amaris.
They were sitting side by side, staring at the blank wall with frustrated expressions on their faces.
"Any news yet?"
Hope was startled out of her reverie when Dante came up to them and asked.
"The doctor said the mana heart was damaged. They gave her extra treatments but said they couldn't say if she would recover."
When Felix explained sadly, Hope said in a shaky voice what everyone had been avoiding.
"Did Cale try to hurt Amaris? I don't want to believe it's true, but why did he go quietly without explanation?"
"I feel like there's something else behind all this. I mean why would Cale hurt Amaris!"
