When he finally managed to get the soul fragment, Sylvie collapsed in his arms. As Cale held her, he entered her mind. After erasing everything that had just happened from her memories, he put Sylvie down.
Sylvie opened her eyes a short time later to see Cale standing beside her, using his lightning elemental to support his friends fighting below. She rubbed her aching head with a frown.
"What happened?"
Cale looked at her and saw that she was still confused. He was also relieved to see that Sylvie was now in a better state.
"You were knocked out by a ricocheting attack from the monsters. Luckily I was able to pull you out at the last moment, otherwise, you would have been badly injured."
Sylvie looked at him in surprise as she listened to him. When she learned that Cale had saved her, she felt a sense of gratitude.
"Thank you," she said, and Cale nodded slightly, acknowledging her thanks.
