"Stop it," Alice said, looking at Cale's pale skin.
Last night, after finding a cave where they could spend the night, Cale had spent the whole night trying to open the portal that would help them get out. However, when he had acquired the skill, he had been unable to open it again with the same success as when he had been working on it.
Alice had watched Cale all night because she didn't need to sleep. It felt strange to watch him try again and again without even frowning. Cale hadn't given up in any way and was still opening it, despite Alice's warnings to him all night.
"At this rate, you're going to do us more harm than good," Aqua interjected in a calm voice, and for the first time, Cale paused what he was doing to look at him.
Alice looked at him in annoyance, knowing that Aqua had slept soundly all night last night, having gone and laid down in a corner as soon as they had entered the cave.
