Chapter 4 - A place to return

Maybe I've been asleep for several days until I finally wake up and can't feel my body at all. My left hand was also scorched by the magic just now and my vision began to blur. I slowly walked towards the exit of the alley. As soon as I walked out of the alley, I was completely shocked by the scene I saw. The world I saw was very different from my home world.

The world is full of strange technology that I've never seen before, but I have to put aside my awe because I should at least find the nearest place to eat. I took out a robe to cover the wounds on my body.

This place has many shops, but I had a hard time telling which store I was looking for because the language and architecture were foreign to me. After walking around for a long time, I finally found a shop that seemed to sell food judging from the picture above.

I can't read the menu on the menu board. I ordered by pointing to any one on the menu. My order was finished but when I wanted to pay they refused my money. They admit that the coins I have are indeed made of pure minerals, but coins like this cannot be used as currency, in fact, it has been a very long time since the last time coins were used as currency. I had no other choice but to cancel the order and leave because the queue behind was crowded.

I went to the park looking for a seat to rest. Shortly after I sat down, a young man walked up to me with food.

"This is for you, you must be hungry?" A young man asked me.

I didn't recognize who this young man was and why he knew I was starving. Just in case I refused his gift and decided to leave. The young man looked disappointed but he didn't stop there. He continued to follow even until I had to return to the narrow gang.

"Can you unfollow me? I don't know you, nor do I know what you want, but I can't accept food from you."

"Huh~ it turns out that tricking heroes is indeed not an easy thing."

"I guessed that there must be something wrong with you. I should have finished you off with my magic but why are you still alive?!"

"It's true that your last attack was so powerful that it destroyed my physical form, but I'm not that weak. I don't have a physical form anymore but I can still possess other creatures to make into containers."

The monster came out of the young man's body.

"This time I will make sure you, the hero, will die in my hands."

Although my left hand doesn't work now, I can still use the sickle with one hand. The monster started attacking, I was quickly able to dodge the attack and counterattack. The battle was fierce and intense. We exchanged slashes with each other.

In the middle of the fight, the young man who was used as a container woke up. The monster saw that he could take advantage of the young man. With cunning intentions, the monster quickly went towards the young man and intended to kill him. Of course I didn't just let go, using my sickle, I split time and slashed the monster before reaching the young man.

"TCHH-- Remember carefully the hero, it's not over yet, I'll make sure I kill you someday."

The monster disappeared. I went up to the young man and asked him about his condition.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine—What are you talking about? I just fainted while your body was covered with wounds like that. Come with me, I know the nearest hospital around here." The young man replied frantically.

Without giving me a chance to explain what really happened, he pulled my hand and took me to the hospital.

When I arrived at the hospital, the doctors and nurses were shocked at the severity of my injuries and took immediate medical action. My body got better after treatment.

I was surprised that they didn't use magic but used technology that could perform treatments quickly even though it wasn't as effective as the healing magic in my home world.

The doctor said they had done their best to treat the wounds on my body, but they also said some injuries were too severe and needed further treatment. Actually, I was able to fully recover without any treatment from them even though it took a long time. Besides, it can be estimated that the treatment they are referring to will definitely be expensive, so I thanked him and rejected it.

I walked towards the door, from behind the glass on the door I could see the young man waiting for me very anxiously. As soon as I got out of the room, he immediately went to me and asked me again. I explained that my condition was better than before and the doctor said I could go home. Of course I had to lie to her because if I told her the truth she would feel even more guilty and intend to pay the bill.

I thanked him for taking me to the hospital and paying the bill and saying goodbye. He put on my robe and offered to take me home. His offer made me think of my shattered home world and my friends who were brutally killed. I just kept silent and couldn't answer it.
