As the sun rises, Julian takes her leave, stating she won't be back until late in the afternoon after the guild's meeting regarding me. I start eating breakfast with Piro.
"Piro, I was wondering if you could teach me how to fight without relying on my demonic abilities? I dont really trust using it in case what happened the other day would reacure. " I ask after Julian left.
"Well, we angels aren't that great in combat itself. We are more of a support race. Luckily, you're decently fit from those Oni making you work out. I suggest learning magic outside of your race's knowledge just like Trex does." Piro tells me while showing off a small waterball in his palm.
"What's the difference between us using the magic we've obtained with our race and the other magic?" I ask curiously.
"I will teach you the basics of controlling mana and learning other types of magic, since you already know how to use light and dark magic subconsciously that's the main difference as standered magic isn't inherinted Then, we can discuss training with Trex. " Piro explains
Piro grabs my arms. I start to feel a flow of energy from where he's grabbing. "Focus on this feeling and circulate it. Imagine summoning some water droplets." Piro says while forcing more energy into my body. He lets go, and I focus on making it flow through my body. It feels like warm sizziling water in my veins.
I visualize a ball of water as I concentrate on moving my mana to my arms then hands. However, nothing happens. "Why isn't it working?" I ask aloud.
"The magic you've been using is not simple. You can use it purely because you're a Nephalem. Typically, you would need to know how to form and create the thing you're imagining and name it for it to be effective." Piro explained as he handed me a book on chemistry basics.
I start to read it, seeing a picture of how water is formed the combination of oxygen and hydrogen while adding heat. I use the focus I had before imagining the combination of these chemicals while focusing on using mana to move these molecules faster, providing some heat. "Waterball." I say as a small pebble size water droplet forms.
"That's quite underwhelming." I say towards Piro after seeing my weak spell. "It takes time and practice not only that, but you've already shown significant progress. Magic isn't typically developed into your first spell for about a week. However, I already knew you were extremely smart." Piro says while smiling. He takes most of the day to meditate.
I practice my magic control and mana reserves as the more I use magic, the bigger the mana pool is. Before we knew it, the time was 8 pm. Our stomachs rumbling as we grew tired.
"Why isn't Julian back yet? It's been way too long, even for the meeting." I say, worried. "Yeah, we should head to the guild. It has been a while, and she didn't answer my phone call earlier." Piro says while we get ready and leave towards the guild.
As we arrive, we see the place littered with police cars and officers. "Halt. Do you all work here?" A police officer asks we answer, and he lets us in warning us that it's not a pretty sight.
Blood and dismembered bodies of the guild members littered the floors, walls, tables, and chairs. Gl贸in and a few other surviving members were sitting at a table while investigators took samples. "What happened here?!" Piro asks Gl贸in and the others.
"While Gl贸in was out shopping, we were having the guild meeting. I was up in my room, but I heard Oliver furious before repeated screaming and banging." One member says as I frantically looked around.
Shockingly, I see Trex's body against a wall hanging up with daggers in his hands and a note stabbed into his chest. "Heal...Heal!" I shout while desperately trying to heal Trex.
"That won't work he's already dead. Even if you used dark magic to reanimate the dead, he won't remember anything his souls gone." Piro explains
(Kehehehe, this place looks like a blast. I know how angry you are. Why not let me take it from here?) "Oh shut up, Lucifer." I whisper to myself as I pick the note off of Trex's body.
It reads meet me Nux at the warehouse on Python Street. If you don't, I'll kill Julian as well. Do not bring anyone with you, or she's instantly dead as I see them. I storm out of the guild furiously, crumbling and throwing the paper on the ground as Piro followed behind.
"Do not follow me!" I yell towards him, he stops. I run towards the warehouse that is mentioned in the note. As I open the door, I see a mostly empty, vast storage room only a few containers scatteredaround, Oliver standing against the wall, his mechanical arm fully regrown, and pitch black while, Julian is shackled up, unconscious and drenched in blood.
"What did you do? You said that she wouldn't be harmed if I came alone!" I yell towards Oliver. He gives off an eery grin.
"I didn't say such a thing simply put I said she wouldn't die if you came alone but now that I look at her she may be more beautiful dead and the look on your face would be totally worth it." Oliver says while holding a knife to Julian's throat.
" I also wanted to thank you it seems when your blood mixed with mine, my regeneration speed has increased extraordinarily. I'm probably stronger than you now. Since you've spent so long in dungeons these past weeks, you must be exhausted by now." Oliver says with a crooked smile.
Julian's neck now slowly dripping blood, and my claws pertruding. Wings sprouting from my back. I grow with immense hatred and anger. (Kehehehe...)
