Chapter 2 - "You must bring a sleeping bag, those who don't will be visited . '

"Mom, Dad, did you pack my favorite PJ's?"

"Yes, honey bun, I will really miss you."

Hello there, my name is Kelly. I'm 17, and for the first time in my life, my parents are allowing me to go for a sleepover at one of my friend's places. It is going to be legendary. I really can't wait, and if I could move time forward and be there already, I would have done that. That is how excited I am.

"Ok, Mom, it's just for six days. I will be back next week, so could you please stop exaggerating," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Babe, she can take care of herself, right my love?" said Daddy.

"Yes, Daddy, can you please remind her that she promised?" I argued.

"Are her parents with you? Are there going to be boys? What about food? Are you sure you are going to be okay?" She questioned me.

"Mom, it's okay. You spoke to Jessi's parents, and they told you everything. I will be okay, and if you miss me too much, you can just call," I said, trying to calm her down.

"Yes, babe, Kelly is right. If we miss her, we can always reach out to her. Though, Jessi's parents sounded very weird. Not what I would have imagined judging by the way Jessi talks. But I guess that's how it usually is with the country folks," said Dad, doing his best to keep her calm.

So right now, I'm packing, then it's on to Jessi's place with my other four friends: Debby, Lexi, Belle, and Delphine. I know I said this before, but it is going to be the sleepover of the century (Not like I know what a sleepover is supposed to look like, tee-hee ><).

3 hours later...

We are finally here, and I can't wait for my parents to leave. Currently, they are in the kitchen talking to Jessi's parents, and from the sound of things, they are probably saying something to embarrass me. Sigh, parents. Jessi was giving me a tour around the house, and it seems normal at first glance, but then there is a really creepy painting on the wall. She told me that it was a family heirloom, and they had it for as long as she can remember, so she doesn't get creeped out by it. The painting isn't really creepy at first glance, but the more you look at it, the creepier it gets. I felt like I could hear sounds coming out of the foggy-looking island, wind, and then screams. I averted my gaze before it got scarier and continued walking. Jessi continued the tour, and she showed me her room down where the basement was meant to be. She said her parents said that while we were there, we would be warm, so as to not disturb them. While we were there, I heard a voice and immediately knew whose voice I heard. I ran upstairs with excitement, forgetting about the creepy vibes I was getting, and clouded by excitement, and I was right, it was Lexi. I jumped on her, and we hugged. Though we are all friends, I had always been closer to Lexi, but last summer she moved away. Even though we kept in touch and we spoke to each other at least once a week, it still felt lonely without her. Seeing her here made me feel safer, and I knew that this summer break was going to be hella fun.

"Babe."

"Honeyyyy."

These were lines from one of our favorite movies, and it just felt right saying it to each other, even though the others think it's weird. But I get that is why I'm closer to her, she gets me.

"I really can't believe you're here. How did you convince your parents to let you come this far?" I asked her.

"Well, believe me, it was not easy. So, after we moved, my grades dropped, and I made a deal with them that if I could get them back up, they would allow me to come. And here I am."

We hugged each other again in excitement.

**Screams**

We were surprised when we heard screaming, but then immediately, we knew it was Delphine. She is like a diva, and I have already guessed why she screamed. And just like it was on cue, she ran inside.

"You guys, this 'place' is the end of the world," she said, using her fingers to emphasize 'this place'.

Then, knowing why she was being dramatic, I decided to play along and ask her why, and her answer did not surprise anyone.

"This place doesn't have WIFI! Like, where in the world does not have wifi? How do you expect me to post!!! **She turned then, acting like she remembered something, she turned back to us** My followers, how do they know what I'm doing?"

"Calm down, okay? No wifi does not mean the end of the world. Plus, you have us," said Lexi.

I'm guessing that was when she noticed her because when she heard her, she screamed and jumped on her. You could say Lexi was the glue holding our friendship together. Like, everybody loves Lexi. Without her, a nerd like me wouldn't even think of being friends with a cheerleader like Delphine.

**An extra hour of catching up**

**Car horn**

We were all waiting for that because we all tried guessing who was coming next, and it seems the winners were Delphine and I. It's funny; we actually agreed on something. It's not like we argue or we are enemies, but I can't really say we were friends. It was more like that one person I had to tolerate because others liked her, but personally, I think she is a proud meanie.

And the next member of our gang to come was Belle. She was very rich, rather her parents were very rich, she owned a car, and her parents were not in the country. Getting outside, we found out that she came with Debby, or should I say, always late Debby. Her parents told us that she came out of the womb 3 hours later than expected, and as if living to that legacy, she was always late to literally everywhere: church, school, functions, charity events, and even to her birthday twice.

They all acted the same way seeing Lexi, and that was everybody. The gang was back together again, we did a big group power bump.

**At that time my parents were leaving**

"Honey, are you sure you want to stay? We can go back home together now."

"I'm okay, Mom, don't worry. If I get scared or nervous, or I feel something is wrong, I will text you immediately. Okay?"

"Promise me, because as soon as you call, I will rush down here to get you. Okay?"

"Mom, I promise. So, can you stop embarrassing me? My friends are watching."

She hugged me, and I hugged her back. I went to my dad, hugged him, and he said, "I love you, and I hugged him back and said, "Love you too, Daddy."

They entered the car and drove off, my mom was waving from the car's window shouting, "BYE HONEY!!!!"

I turned around, ready for the worst experience of my life, and I got... I was met with Delphine laughing, making fun of me, and everybody laughing too. At first, I was angry, but I ended up joining them and laughed at myself too, which surprised them and, I guess, killed the joke.
