Chapter 17 - Church Service

Sean kept trying to hold her hand during the entire sermon. He would occasionally steal glances at her. She was sitting close to Sean and she couldn't concentrate on The Lord's prayer.

She was thinking of Austin. 'Of all people, Alora.' Her mind judged her. She didn't know that the service had ended until Sean tapped her.

"Lora, time to go."

He held her hand and pulled her to the outer building of the church. He led her to the children section where the younger children were eating snacks and a few teens were there as well. Her heart raced as Sean turned to her.

"Are you alright? You seem pale."

"I am fine. Thank you for asking."

He was staring at her intensely. She pick a bun and ate it, avoiding Sean's eyes. When he didn't stop looking at her, she wiped the crumbs off her face and turned to him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

She asked in Italian. Leslie and Sean were Italian and that was the only language that she knew that no one understood.

"I love staring into your eyes." He answered.

"Well, stop it." She turned away from him and shoved another bun into her mouth. It's creeping me out."

Leslie walked towards both of them with Ally and Zeke holding her hands and two duffel bags.

"You abandoned by the twins for me and your duffel bag. Ballet class will start at nine and it is three minutes passed eight."

Leslie opened a bottle of juice and emptied the can into a tray of plastic cups and then, distributed them among the children. Alora sat in a corner, drinking a can of Malt. Sean dragged a seat and sat next to her.

"Your sister tells me that you are learning Korean."

"That's true " She nodded and sipped her Malt.

"That's impressive." Sean smiled and kissed her forehead. "I have to check on Zeke. It's almost time for your ballet class."

Sean gave her another breathtaking smile then, left her alone.

"Lora, I have been looking for you." Alora turned to see a flustered Leslie, running towards her. "We are going be late."

That's when she realised that she had forgotten about ballet classes.

"Oh dear ."

Alora exclaimed and the two hurried to a large room painted in light sunset pink. There were many girls, some trying to wear their clothes and others waiting for the instructor.

Leslie and Alora ran to a bathroom and quickly changed. Lora helped fix Leslie's hair and she did the same. They were just in time to meet their French dance teacher, Miss Chloe.
