Perspective: Edgarm Ersa
When he entered his office, he looked around. After confirming that there was no one there, for some reason his strong gate turned into a weak one. Not bothering to move towards his desk he stood in the place.
Few days ago he received a message from someone. He could never tell who sent it to him, ministers said it was an empty Letter.
Usually sending an empty letter meant the person didn't want anything to with other, in other words equivalent of declaring war.
But it had no family name, just a black stamp. Which he never remembered ever seeing.
Few days later he heard about the commotion in the kingdom that someone from royal family was found and saved from The Teleportation Labrinth.
Black eyes and black hair, a human. There were no official royal families that
shared that feature. But before he could send his soldiers, he heard that his wife had already sent her personal knights to bring him.
It was bit odd.
And then going as far as to using truth seal on him. But it didn't end with his wife.
Celena vouched for him. and then before he was thrown into manaless less chamber.
The boy said something, beyond believable. Apparantly, truth seal is said to have it's own concious. But if it's true or not is something even the current user of it didn't know.
*I am going to die and Celena too?*
Even if he wasn't under the effects of truth seal. The king, Edgram Ersa truly couldn't ignore the words. The raw emotion and expression he held, as if he had seen their death himself.
With a sigh, Edgarm straightened his gate. The people in kingdom have already realised that some kind of barrier was surrounding the castle.
Hours had passed by now.
The knights and ministers told him to stay in and take care of other duties.
Edgarm wanted to help, but he knew it was hopeless, they couldn't break that level of barrier with any force they can muster from inside. It would take days for help from other kingdoms to reach them.
*They wouldn't dare to cause havoc outside as long as White Castle exists.*
With that he could atleast rest assured.
For now he had a promise to fullfill, he got out of his room and started walking.
He saw gaurds on ground laying unconscious.
Normally someones heart would panic and check if they were alive. But he didn't care, and simply continued walking. He didn't want to believe it but, he knew what was coming.
The reason he easily believed in the boy was that, somewhere deep down he was aware. Aware of his death.
Though he didn't knew how, and when but as days passed he became more aware. And right now, as he crossed the many unconscious body he knew wherever he was going was probably his death.
The room he had promised to meet her, was a place where happiness died for his family. Now, as he walked to fulfill his promise old memories flashed his mind.
*How long has been? Ten? No, Fourteen years*
Fourteen years since his first child. He wished he remembered more, but from that day all he could remember was her wife's shattered expressions. He had to be strong. He couldn't cry yet.
That day something died in her, even him. Why did he die? Why!? He couldn't understand. He didn't want to understand.
Everything was going so happy. He became a father, she became a mother... only to lose their first child before he could even turn ten.
Today he would be Twenty-four.
He stopped visiting this floor ever since day, but now he was standing in front of same room he wanted to forget.
The bitter past.
The whole mansion was silent, there had been a quake, he doubted what it was... there were a lot of conflicting emotions.
The king inside him was tired.
He opened the door. The room had not changed a bit... for some reason it.
Clean?
He expected this room to be... abandoned.
Then it become clear. She peeling apples as she sat beside the bed.
"How long have you been doing this for? Siale."
He hadn't seen her wife much ever since that day, he felt conflicted, he didn't know how to be more close to her.
In the court room today, it had been 3 months since he last saw her. She had grown even more sick.
Her expressions were motherly, a soft smile and sadness somewhere confused in her expressions.
"Ever since that day." Siale replied.
Ersa walked towards her. The vines closed the door. Sitting on the bed, he looked at her eyes, and her face.
"We should talk." He said with his soft voice.
To that she gave him a smile he had not seen in years, "Yess we should."
They started talking about how each other had been, then they talked about the room. Some silly moments of past, slowly they started talking about their childs and past... he couldn't tell how much time had passed.
"You know he would be twenty four years by now." She said... trying to mask a sadness as best as she could.
"Hmm" he just nodded.
"You know I can't decide, what I want. I want my son back. But I don't want to lose my family. I don't want to lose you.
But I can't choose everything."
The knife in her hand was shaking, no her body was shaking. Nothing was needed to be said, all these years she had been suffering the most.
"Is there no other way?" He asked. He didn't need to know what was going on for now all he wanted was to give her peace.
"Ever since that day, there is no single day when I don't see him. The same dream... 'why couldn't I save him' he asked.
I can see future. Thanks to that I have able to solve many tragedies that could have fallen on the kingdom. I was able to save myself from losing Laya too.
But now, I can't go back... if I don't do this... I will lose everything. You, Laya, and everything I cherish."
Ersa smiled and wiped her tears, "it's okay dear, you can do it."
He reached his hand towards her hand that was holding the knife, and guided it to his heart.
Her eyes widened in shock.
"I don't want to do..." Her voice was weak.
"If you don't do this then someone else will do it right?"
Her eyes once again went wide, "how do you know?"
"If it isn't obvious from way you are speaking, then let's say... I know I will die... either by you or someone else. So will you be the last person I see before I die..."
She didn't know what to say, " she could feel his hand guide the knife deeper into his heart."
"Stop... please... I.. " she couldn't do anything.
"Hey, Siale let's talk alright."
She didn't know what to say...
"Do you remember that day when we first meet, I really thought you were kinda rude. Haha~ cough* cough*"
She tried to to speak with a smile...
"Yess, I thought you were a idiot too."
They both exchanged memories as the knife thrust deeper and deeper.
"I love you Siale. Please take care of our childrens."
"I love you too."
Ersa's body fell on her shoulder.
—Siale stood there unmoving as she fell to her knees. Tears rolling down her eyes like stream. A dark bile of emotions was stuck in her chest.
