Chapter 57 - Chapter-57

After 3-4 weeks, Vidyut sir comes out of a coma but his body needs healing for at least a few more weeks till he is healed enough to return to his duty, and Soma's mom's position is turned permanent as co-partner with Vidyut sir.

The city is back to normal, the residents are back to their normal social and personal lives, whereas the police department is busy studying the criminals' profile cases, who took part in that whole Kali's shadow-puppet game and kept them in rehabilitation for a month to decide their punishment for them.

Navya and Hrida shifted into Hrida's house after Hrida removed all the traces of her parent's belongings, sold the furniture items, bought new furniture items, and re-decorated the whole house along with the help of Navya, Soma, Shashi's mom and Shashi.

After the next day of the shift, Navya invited Shashi's family, Soma's family, Lakshman's family, and Divit for dinner at their newly refurbished home, they all gathered at Navya and Hrida's house in the evening time.

Hrida properly introduces Tapish to Divit and Soma, meanwhile, Shashi is imitating her actions sitting behind her, Divit breaks into laughter, and Soma tries to resist but he too explodes in laughter.                                                                     Hrida knows the reason behind their laughter, she turns and tells him to stop but he imitates her back, and she too cackles in laughter.

Tapish clung to Hrida's shoulder, she and all her friends played a board game, then played an outdoor game, then watched a movie after dinner with everyone.

Navya asks Hrida out of curiosity, " Hrida, why did you deny my proposal of adoption, since your parents have legally disowned you, you are free to adopt a new family, is there any strong reason? Are you scared or something?"

Lakshman glared at her with an irritated expression, Navya glared back at him, Hrida noticed this and giggled, " Navya didi and Lakshman bhaiya, you will burn each other by your gaze.

It's okay, bhaiya, I am over my parents, they did what they wanted to and now I would do what is right for me, so I thought about Navya didi's proposal for hours, I thought about the consequences and how it would affect my relationship with others, etc.

So, based on that, I made up my mind. See, my theory is simple, since Navya Didi is a bachelor, she might get married in the future, which she should.

And, I don't know whether that person and I would be comfortable with each other, this might complicate our relationship and I don't want to tangle myself in an awkward relationship again. This option has a 50 % chance of happening.

Now, my other theory which is highly likely to happen in the near future, is that if Lakshman bhaiya and Navya Didi fall in love and get married in the future, then wouldn't that make me and Soma cousin, as of brother and sister and that would make our friendship awkward and complicated again.

I just don't want to tangle the relationship when it can be simple and comfortable."

Lakshman and Navya are flustered red by the mention of 'something romantic happening between them', Lakshman's mom voices out that she doesn't mind their relationship and gives a green signal to their budding relationship.

Lakshman's dad narrates his son's childhood funny and embarrassing moments, and they all join in laughter, Soma's mom comments out of a sudden, " Hrida, you are quite mature for your age. Soma, did you see, how analytical and smart, your friend is."

Shashi remarks teasingly, " Aunty, Hrida is good at making choices, and her love for her accessories and pretty headbands is unbreakable. You won't believe Aunty, during our annual function in 6th grade, she was performing a group dance with other girls and I performed under a theatrical comedy act, it was just next after Hrida's group dance.

Their turn was announced, and all the girls were already in their positions but Hrida appeared hesitant and upset, standing in her position, the curtains raised, and their song started playing, all girls were dancing in tune and Hrida was dancing too while crying silently.

When the spotlight shed on her, she started tearing up and stopped dancing in the middle of the dance, but the girls didn't stop, they continued dancing, and the dance teacher was very upset.

In addition, Hrida's mother scolded her right after she ran off from the stage, she talked about class, proper, dolls, pretty dolls do not cry, etc.. whatnot, Hrida's cries became loud and she ran back home.

Yeah, running away is in her genes from childhood. * Hrida slaps his arm* Ouch..Hridaa, I was just being honest.

Back to the story, And, you might have guessed it, I left my performance and ran after her, since I didn't want to leave her alone especially when she was feeling miserable.

Hrida is quite fast, to be honest, I arrived at her house after 10 minutes, and she sprinted back home like a cheetah, I searched for her in their house's garden since the door was locked. I didn't find her anywhere.

So, then I tried to think like Hrida, where she would have thought of going since her house is locked, then it clicked to me, she might be at my house since my house is her comfort and she also knew where the extra keys are hidden.

I arrived at my house and found her curled up, her head hidden behind her knees, her low sobbing sound, it hurts me to see her like that. I neared her and asked her why she was crying while doing her dance, and why she left the stage.

She just answered with a broken tone, ' That turquoise blue colored headband, I lost it somewhere in our school's dressing room, I searched for it everywhere and asked all the girls but they didn't see my headband.

It is important to me, Aunty gave it to me on my birthday and I lost it. Mother is right, I can't be a perfect doll-like other dolls if I make a mistake like this.'

I never understood at that time, why Hrida's past mother was so adamant about making her into a pretty little doll. Anyway, she kept on rambling and stuttering, so I cracked the silliest jokes, which caused her to give sassy remarks at me.

And, I love that when she does, so back to the story, after giving a tight hug since a hug is her language, a hug can solve everything for her and who doesn't like hugs?

So, anyway, I asked her why she didn't enter inside when she knew where the keys were, and then she replied that a good doll doesn't venture into the house without permission/consent of the resident living there.

I was like-woah, she is like Princess Perfect and if this hadn't happened, Hrida would have been partially Miss Little Perfect and partially Carefree Hrida.

So, the end of the story is that she didn't return home until I found her the same headband she lost, which wasn't lost but rather stolen by one of her classmates, who was also in the group dance. Woahh-quite long story."

Divit voices out with an innocent tone, " I didn't know Hrida is fond of headbands to such an extent degree, I can't make a pretty headband but I can draw you a pretty headband." Hrida expressed her excitement to him for his future drawing.

Hrida noticed Lakshman and Navya glance at each other and make gestures through their eyes to each other, it looked like they were talking in a secret language.

Hrida teased Navya didi, " Didi, did you find your aim in life ?" All were puzzled by her question, even Shashi and Soma were confused at first, but then Shashi understood her pun.

Soma loudly voiced out, " Oh, I got it, she is indirectly asking, did you find Laksh of your life and Laksh means aim, so she is asking your opinion about Lakshman bhaiya ?"

Hrida praises Soma with a slightly impressed tone, " Woah, you understood my hidden meaning, that's nice. You know, Soma, usually most people don't get my pun, but you got it so fast. You are now starting to get me, that's good."

Shashi chuckles, " Don't blame your bad puns on us innocent fellows. Tch… Like seriously, I know what are you going to say next. He is your Laksh (aim) in your life, Didi. Aren't I right?"

Hrida grins," Oughhh..Shashiii, you know me so better, both of you get me so well. Divit, soon, you will also get comfortable with weird charms that I acquire."

Soma's mom playfully comments, " Ohh..A kind and charming girl like you must have received special gifts from your classmates, especially boys.

Did you, Hrida? Say..I won't scold you, I am cool and open-minded, Now, I am curious, beta, say. "

All of them were interested in her answer all of a sudden, especially Divit and Soma, whereas Shashi had a playful smirk on his lips, Hrida opened her mouth to speak but didn't have any proper answer to give.

Shashi came to her defense with mischief on his mind, " Hrida doesn't know but she indeed has a few admirers, some of my guy friends have even given love notes like around 5-10.

You know, Aunty, one of my friends even dared to give her a love letter and rose but he didn't at last." Hrida stared at him with an open mouth, and they were confused seeing Hrida acting like she didn't notice but then the question remained what happened to the love notes placed on her desk.

Shashi clarifies with a goofy tone, " Actually, Hrida did notice love notes but she didn't unfold them to see what was inside them and threw them away since she thought those were torn shredded pieces of paper as they looked dirty, messy, and torn.

Hrida used to get annoyed and complain about her stupid classmates were messing up her tidy seat, audible to those boys who sent her love notes, and they thought she had indirectly rejected them.

Poor them! I didn't disclose this matter to her because I knew Mrs. Chand didn't like Hrida to be involved in such things, she didn't even like me, but I didn't mind her hate for me cause Hrida mattered to me more than her hate.

Anyway, about that proposal guy, he waited for her by the park near Hrida's house with a rose and love letter in his hand, he had asked me to ask Hrida to come urgently to the park.

I did inform Hrida that my friend wants to meet you in the park to clarify some doubts in a subject but you told me to say sorry on my behalf for not being able to accept your proposal, which I sincerely did."

Hrida exclaims in disbelief, " Shashii..You never told me..you never said that Parv had asked me for something romantic, I denied his request thinking that he was asking for tutoring or something.

And, you know, my Mother-I mean Mrs. Chand doesn't like me being outside the house for more than a few minutes but you were a different case, you somehow magically managed to bring me out of home without her notice.

But Shashi, you should have informed me at least about this, then I would thought about what to do about his proposal?"

Divit curiously asks her, " Would you have accepted his proposal? "

Hrida pretends to be serious, " Maybe

Soma mouths ' What? Who is this Parv guy? ' to Shashi, but he stares at Hrida with an annoyed expression.

Shashi questions her with a hint of annoyance, " Ohh, really, since when do you like Parv, If I recollect, you behaved normally with him like other classmates."

Hrida was enjoying this, she continued her act with a sweet tone, " Shashi, Parv is a nice guy, he loves movies like me, he also loves cats like me, he has always helped me in group activities, he respects girls.

He is handsome and most importantly, he once told me that pretty headbands look good on me, isn't that cute? "

All three of them are annoyed by her statement, but only Shashi voiced out his irritation openly,   " Handsome, tchh..as if he is, hmmph..

Hrida, I don't think he would have been good for you since he is so demanding and a little bit cocky. I know him very well, he isn't whatever qualities you mentioned right now.

He just was trying to make a perfect image of him in front of you, so that you accept him since you are Miss Perfect of our class. Hrida, your choices were never wrong, then how can you even consider of liking him? Pfft."

Hrida bursts into laughter seeing his face clearly painted in jealousy, Shashi's mom supports her,   " Hrida, you almost convinced him thinking that you have feelings for someone. Tch..Tchh..Shashi, don't think Hrida can't outsmart you, she is full of charms."
