Chapter 68 - Some beef going on

He was prepared for today, he woke up, got to school well rested and somewhat changed for the better. He was somewhat empty minded as everyone were chatting amongst themselves, Ida rushed into the room to tell everyone to sit down, but was met with what he was meant to make everyone do. He sat down filled with grief from the situation which faded away in a bit. By now the class started and the door slid open. "Morning class..." a muffled voice was heard, it was Aizawa, who was bandaged pretty much all over his upper body. One of the students was appreciative of him being "Alright"

"My wellbeing is irrelevant. What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet... The UA sports festival is about to start." Those words hyped some, and made others skeptical of it's practicality after the events. Some students pointed it out and deemed it dangerous in a way. Yet the argument was illogical. That they could attack them.

"Apparently the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled, and that the school is safer than ever. Plus they are beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA, it's not something we can cancel because of a few villains... Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world, in the past everyone obsessed over the Olympic games, but then quirks started appearing. Now the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership, for everyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters... The UA sports festival." He explained

Some of the students chatted amongst themselves about it and what they could gain from it, for example attention and a potential role as a side kick. Not only Aizawa listened into it but also Etheral, who didn't want any of it, he just wanted to live a life, with something exciting in it. Either he will be the villain or the hero, or both at the same time... He just is and it annoyed how they dreamt of wasting their life away in pursuit of "Justice" and some similar bullshit. He stayed silent, but it just bugged him off how they were wasting their own potential as an actual human being, wanting to join in on the bounds of "Duty" and whatever morals they thought they had.

"It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity, that's why the festival matters. If you want to go pro one day, than this event could open a path for you... One chance a year... Three chances in a life time, no aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival... That means you better not slack off on your training..." He added. To which he got a mostly positive response except Etheral who just sat there and said nothing, it didn't came to mind to anyone, so he just ignored most of it. "Class is dismissed."

As he said that the normal classes begun, after a few minutes a new teacher came and then another and another until the cycle for today was complete.

For today, Eth didn't eat anything as he didn't feel any hunger at all as if his old habits of not needing sustenance he felt actually happy about, having the whole room for himself a moment of silence for those who need it. But not to escape noise, but allow his thought flow without distractions, he felt strong, unstoppable. Yet so childish, and he loved it. Purity of freedom that he won't just throw away or be thrown into once born.

He smiled to this feeling, his face shining like the sun outside. He was there for quite sometime until the other students returned, it seemed that they have been dismissed for a week or two to train. Some of the students were about to leave before the door to the classroom opened to reveal a bunch of students from the other classes, Eth was still oblivious of it as he was looking out, but it was when his classmates questioned their reasoning for being here that he turned his attention to them. Bakugo walked passed those who were questioning them and took a more face to face approach. "They are scouting out the competition, idiots. We are the class that survived a real villain attack. They wanna see us with their own eyes. At least now you know what a future pro looks like, now move it extras." Some students were shocked, but there was a loud laughter that was heard at the back of the class room. "HAHAHAH" Etheral was dying laughing at this bold approach. He stood up and attempted to hold his balance. "Good one hahah..."

"So this is class 1-A. I heard you guys are impressive, but you just sound like an ass. Is everyone in the hero course delusional or just you? How sad, they'd come here and find a bunch of egomaniacs... I wanted to be in the hero course, but like many others here i was forced to choose a different track, such is life... I didn't cut it the first time around, but i have another chance, if any of us do well in the sports festivals the teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course. And they will have to transfer people out to make room... Scouting competition? Maybe some of my peers are but i am here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best i will steal your spotlight from under you... Consider this a declaration of war." A random dude from the crowd came to the front of everyone. Etheral was listening to it and just got into frame for the person to see him face.

"You? steal My spotlight? Nah, not with that goofy hair style. What breed are you even?" Etheral said before starting to laugh as he felt a tingle in his brain. The guy seemed to smile, but it was short lived. "And what's that? You think with a quirk to make my mind tingle would work?" The guy in response just stood there and stared in attempt to intimidate him. "..." Eth just looked back. "I ain't gonna get more beautiful, go, be gon~."

"Hey you! I am from class 1-B next door to you, we heard you fought some villains, and i came to see if that was true, but you are just a bunch of brats, you think you are better than us... Talk all you want it will just be more embarrassing when you are K.Od." A random person in the crowd said, his voice loud and angry.

"Make that 'you' to be just me. And also, who the fuck are you? That's why it's called background characters." Etheral yelled back, he hoped to take all the blame, because he didn't want to make it difficult to his classmates, he wanted the challenge, not them. His words shut off the kid. "Anyways, if anyone else wants their mouth shut then come on, don't hold back, it will be funnier for me when i destroy your ego..." Eth said challenging everyone else in the crowd, but they all seemed to keep their mouth shut. "No one? Good, then this settles it. Goodbye everyone have a great evening and see you in the festivals." Etheral said walking forward and pretending to punch the guy from before, just to pass through him and fall into the ground.
