Crackle.
A sharp katana blade passed through three necks, causing the heads of the green-skinned monsters to fly aside.
Then, two axes with rusty blades came down on the young man with long black hair. In the next moment, his silhouette blurred as he appeared aside, and the two monsters were left headless.
Emrim swung his katana, sweeping the blood off it, staring intently at the monsters in the distance.
Three knights in black armor and long halberds pointed their weapons forward, causing the dead Soldiers to rise from the ground.
"They can resurrect them... Shit, that's going to be problematic." Maris frowned, realizing the complexity of the situation.
"Yeah, but what worries me the most is this big guy. I won't hide it, he looks threatening." Emrim pointed at Dark Knight, a tall monster in red armor, demonic wings behind his back, and a massive poleaxe in his hands.
Maris nodded, "Well... We'll definitely have a problem with him. You can distract him if we need to, right?"
"Sure. No problem." Emrim shrugged nonchalantly, "After I became a Knight, I feel like my vision and reaction speed have gotten better than an eagle, maybe like an insect. It doesn't sound very pleasant, but the effect is incredible."
...
Alf turned to Ethan, "What are we going to do? From the looks of it, the monsters aren't particularly aggressive, at least not yet."
The Soldiers slowly moved forward, occasionally tripping over chains and falling, however, the White Guards and Light Knight had not moved yet. They seemed to be evaluating the battlefield as well as Ethan.
"Well, we'll deal with Light Knight at the end, but those three should die as soon as possible." Ethan uttered, pointing at the chains, "We'll throw some chains at the Soldiers, they're heavy enough to fall them and create a safe passage, then we should kill the White Knights as quickly and aggressively as possible."
"Hey, what if that bastard can resurrect them?" Magnus frowned, pointing at Light Knight.
Ethan shrugged, "In that case, we're fucked. Also, we'll do this..."
The plan was said, so action took the accelerated course. With a few gestures, Ethan gave the order to Sentinels and Guards, so in a few seconds, massive chains flew towards the monsters.
Each chain weighed hundreds of kilograms, so it took several men on each side to lift it.
Then, Ethan, Magnus, and Alf rushed forward. They bypassed the Soldiers, moving straight towards the White Guards. They risked random wounds, but with their increased regeneration, they could afford it.
Crackle.
The tip of a rusty sword, grazed Alf, leaving a light cut on his body, but no emotion appeared on his face, he just continued on his way forward.
"Get it! Bastard!" Magnus exclaimed with an excited expression, jumping up high.
His feet came down hard on the monster's chest, throwing it backwards and causing it to lose its balance. However, the White Guard did not fall, preparing to attack.
Magnus was slightly surprised that he didn't have enough strength to knock the monster down, but he quickly recovered and bounced to the side. A sharp sword blade swept to his right.
"Hah, it's my turn now, isn't it?" Magnus brought the hammer in for an attack before delivering a precise strike right into the monster's knee.
The hammer had one major disadvantage compared to swords or axes, the hammer couldn't cut through anything, be it a piece of paper or solid armor. However, to break bones, cutting armor was not necessary.
"ACRHHHHHH!!!" A muffled scream filled with pain resounded from under the helmet, spreading around.
"Oh, so you have a voice? You can't seem to speak, but you don't need to!" Magnus smirked, raining his hammer down on the back of the monster's head.
Then, he began to smash his hammer down on the White Guard's head like a madman, blood coming out of the gaps in his helmet with each swing. The monster tried to rise, but very soon, it could no longer make such an attempt.
Magnus was the first to go.
Alf was next, and strangely enough, he threw his sword aside, and quickly ended up behind his opponent.
White Guard swung his sword sharply, but Alf foresaw it and ducked in advance, so the sharp blade swept over his head.
"A sword is definitely a good weapon, but against a single opponent I can still use what I've learned all my life." Alf said quietly before pouncing on White Guard, knocking the monster to the ground.
Before the monster could realize anything, Alf immobilized every part of his opponent's body as well as knocking the sword out of its hands. Then, Alf began to choke White Guard, not stopping until the monster no longer tried to get out of his death grip.
Ethan was the last to go, he did it faster than the others. He quickly rushed towards the monster, and a sharp sword blade was immediately aimed in his direction.
Ethan easily blocked this attack, it was not difficult even for a novice swordsman like him.
Then, he grabbed the monster's head with one hand, and pulled it down, thus opening the gap between the helmet and the chestplate.
"You're able to resurrect, yet you're unable to defend yourself. What a shame." Ethan said, pulling a dagger from his belt and with a sharp swing, leaving a long cut on the monster's neck.
Blood rushed out as White Guard tried to cover the wound, but it was too deep.
The three opponents that should have been a serious challenge were defeated in less than a minute.
At that moment, a fire appeared in the eyes of the other participants, as well as pride in how brave and strong their leaders were. Each had chosen their own way, but they were all winners.
Alisa, standing in the distance was also surprised as her eyes went wide.
She looked at the stone hounds around her and thought, 'If Alf had been forced to stay by my side, then they wouldn't have been able to get rid of all the White Guards at once... At least not like this... Ethan was lucky, but he let luck help him.'
Ethan, Magnus, and Alf looked at each other and rushed in the opposite direction at full speed. Before doing so, they took away the White Guards' swords.
"ARGGGGGG!!!!"
A few Soldiers tried to stop them, but they paid no attention to it and simply went around all the obstacles.
They stood behind the other participants and thrust their swords as deep into the ground as they could with all their might.
It was unknown if Light Knight could resurrect White Guards, and even if it was possible, they were useless without their weapons. That was Ethan's little plan.
'Even if he resurrects them, even if they have some sort of ability to get their weapons back, none of this will work now.' Ethan pondered, staring intently at Light Knight, 'What are you going to do?'
As if in answer to his question, Light Knight spread his wings wide and raised his massive sword high up.
Then, a massive golden seal with the sign of wings appeared from above. Golden particles emanated from the seal, covering the monsters like a heavenly snowfall.
A golden sheath surfaced on the monsters' bodies, making them faster, stronger, and more aggressive.
"Rooooooooaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!"
With a unified roar, the two hundred monsters burst forward, even though they were moving slowly and clumsily before.
