The waiter brought Alex his food, he paid, thanked Camryn and left, Camryn was almost moved to tears seeing the sad expression on his face, even though he didn't show, it was obvious that he was sad and his world was filled with darkness, she turned to make her orders when she heard
Everyone! "I'm sure this pauper was intervening for that low life Alex just for him to look in her way but he simply thanked her after taking his order and left" one of the girls said sneering
"Look at the disappointed look on her face she's nothing but a loser and I'm sure no one would see her not even a pauper like her" another said and they burst out laughing at Camryn who simply ignored them, took her orders and left, as she walked out of the restaurant, she could see the dim sight of Alex as he walked towards the school's purple lake, named after the one in New York, Central Park. She realized that she couldn't just let him drown in his sorrow, so without hesitation, she followed him.
As Camryn approached the purple lake, she could see Alex sitting on a bench, staring blankly into the water. The lake was usually a vibrant shade of purple, reflecting the colorful flowers that surrounded its banks. But today, it seemed to mirror Alex's desolation, its colors muted and dreary. Alex put down the food he's bought and began to eat, as he ate, tears welled up in his eyes, and two drops of tears slipped off his eyes, Camryn watched him with kin interest as he put down his food and stood up
"You are not going to leave the dirt around after eating, are you?" Camryn thought to herself "this guy is a real punk" she thought further but Alex's next action baffled her, he went down on his knees, facing north-northwest and began to pray, Camryn was shocked "was he accustomed to praying after eating?" she thought looking at him.
Alex stood up went to the bank side of the lake and jumped in without a second thought Camryn realized what he was trying to do, he was trying to escape his pain. In that moment, a rush of panic washed over Camryn as she saw Alex immerse himself in the murky waters. Without hesitation, she sprinted towards the lake, her heart pounding in her chest.
As she reached the edge, Camryn frantically scanned the water surface for any sign of Alex. The purple hue of the lake made it difficult to see beneath the surface, but she couldn't afford to waste any time. With a determined breath, she dove into the water, submerging herself in the unknown depths below.
The coolness of the water enveloped her, momentarily relieving her anxious mind. She began to swim deeper, her lungs burning for oxygen, but the urgency in her heart propelled her forward. The vibrant flowers that adorned the lake's banks seemed to dance around her, their once muted colors reawakening as if to guide her through the unruly waters.
After what felt like an eternity, Camryn caught sight of a figure beneath her. It was Alex, his body sinking further into the abyss. With a surge of strength, she propelled herself towards him, grasping his arm tightly. Panic and desperation overwhelmed her as she tugged at him frantically, willing him to wake from this dark moment.
With every ounce of energy, Camryn propelled them back towards the surface. The journey felt treacherous, the weight of Alex's despair threatening to drag them both down. But she refused to succumb to defeat. The taste of oxygen grew nearer as she swam tirelessly, her body aching with exhaustion.
Finally, they burst through the surface, gasping for precious air. Camryn clung to the edge of the lake, hauling Alex out of the water onto the safety of the bank. They lay there for a moment, their chests heaving, their bodies drenched and shivering.
Kneeling beside the coughing and sputtering Alex, she took a moment to catch her own breath before confronting him with a mixture of anger and concern. "Have you gone out of your mind? Why would you want to kill yourself?" she exclaimed, her voice wavering with emotion.
Alex, drenched and gasping for air, looked up at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of shame and sadness. "I... I don't know, Camryn. It all became too overwhelming. I felt like I couldn't handle it anymore," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
