Chapter 58 - Chapter 58. Ambush from all sides

"There are three really strong figures amongst them." JoJo commented."two admirals and a vice admiral..." He clarified. He used his observation Haki with his electric abilities to get a better scope of their enemies. He could feel and hear them.

"Which admirals?" Ace asked, as he could feel them but couldn't hear them.

"Akainu and Aokiji. And the third strong figure is someone called Aramaki, I'm not familiar with him." JoJo explained what he had found out.

"Captain, where should we go, we're surrounded!" Nami asked with clear worry.

Ace looked around and used his observation Haki to find the best route.

Fighting at sea was a much greater risk than on land.

Ace couldn't go all out as it could harm his own shipmates, furthermore, the whole horizon is filled with ships. It's an army, if Ace was alone, he might've survived but with his crew there are too many things to consider making it harder for him. He didn't want to lose another Nakama.

"CAPTAIN?!" Nami panicked.

"There, take that route." Ace said as he pointed towards the weakest link.

From the side, a big marine ship was leading a section of the army of ships. Akainu stood at the forefront with a den den mushi.

"They took the bait" a voice said to Akainu form the den den mushi.

Akainu stared with coldness at the Black Pearl.

"What kind of ship is that? Why is it so fast?" The second in command asked Akainu.

It doesn't matter, today, it will sink." Akainu commented.

Akainu came from the west. Aokiji came from the east and Aramaki came from the north/west.

And the largest section of ships came from the south.

Akainu from the west and Aokiji from the eeast/south, which left a bigger opening in the north/east, and that's where the Black Pearl was heading.

"Captain, it is a trap!" JoJo said as soon as he heard the den den mushi in Akainu's hands.

"I know, but there's no other route we can take without falling into a full on battle. We need to go ahead, into the trap and force ourselves through." Ace explained. Id they went southz were no admiral level marine wasz they would still have to fight as the biggest force was there with countless rear admirals. And if they fight, the northern, eastern and southern army will arrive at their location.

The ships just sailed towards them in full speed without initiating any battle, and soon, The Black Pearl passed the northern and eastern ships.

To the surprise of the marines, The Black Pearl got there much faster than they had expected, leaving a big gap between the four sections and the Black Pearl.

There was supposed to be a small gap where they would initiate their plans as they were supposed to catch up, but the black pearl was much faster than they thought, the gap was bigger than expected.

"Admiral Akainu, what should we do?"

Akainu kept his sharp eyes on the Black Pearl.

"East you go first." Akainu raised his den den mushi.

Aokiji in the east suddenly raised his arms towards the black pearl and frozen the whole sea surrounding them.

The Black Pearl was about the be frozen in place.

"North, go."

Aramaki in the north suddenly raised his arms towards the the Black Pearl, and the Ice surrounding started crack as gigantic arms of vines and wood grew form beneath the sea, they rose up above the Black Pearl, ready to sink it.

"Canons, go." Akainu spoke his last command, as all ships turned their canons towards the the the Black Pearl, and shot.

The Demon Ace Pirates saw it all. The sea turned into Ice as gigantic arms of wood and vines grew form the sea and surrounded them, and thousands of canons shot towards them.

Weirdly enough, Apoo was the first one to react as he turned his body parts into musical instruments and shot musical notes at everything around them the open a path.

Ronaldino Ranaldo with Baby 5 as his weapon,Bonney, Gaga, Spikwards, Bepo and even Cavendish hurriedly manoeuvred the canons

Cavendish occasionally sent flying slashes at vines trying to cut them up, Law helped but he also used his devil fruit powers to open up a path.

Ace was glad that they had arrived at this point much faster than the enemies had expected, leaving more room for them to sail between the northern and eastern forces that was closing in on them.

Ace went forwards and started shooting his flames, blasting apart anything their ways.

But the sea had become ice, for as far as the eye could see. So Ace focused and tried to burn all the ice away, but that when he felt it, Aokiji was fighting back, freezing the Ice even colder to make it resistant to his awakened abilities. Ace could overpower Aokiji's abilities but it would take too much time, which he didn't have as every second could be the difference between life and death.

As soon as he focused on burning the ice away, the vines started attacking violently.

Ace returned to burning the vine and trees.

As his arms had tuned into blazing flames that spurted fire at anything that came close, Ace played with the idea of turning his flames white... But that would most likely hurt his companions and ship as well...

He uped his flames and they turned blue, at this point the Ice and Wood started melting away faster, and the Ice melted into hot steam and mist. The steam burnt his crewmates but it wasn't to the point of them taking real damage.

"We lost sight of them Admiral! The steam is hiding them!" A soldier with binoculars hurriedly spoke.

"Continue, they are still.there!" Akainu barked in anger.

This continued while the Marines chased the Black Pearl, and although he Black Pearl was slowed down marginally, it was still about as fast as the marine ships.

This put a dent on their plans as the marines had hoped that the Black Pearl would sink with their Barricade of attacks. And if the attack didn't, it would atleast hinder them to the point that they would be surrounded by the northern, western, eastern and southern forces.

Yet even with the Ice, wood and full attack from all the ships with their canons, which was meant to sink The Black Pearl or atleast slow it down, the Black Pearl was still about as fast as the marines which is way out of their expectations.

The Black Pearl didn't allow them to get close.

The chase continued for two hours, all the forces shooting while slowing down the Black Pearl and the black pearl trying to escape with all their might. The marines couldn't catch up and the Black Pearl couldn't lose them.

Suddenly a thunderous sound struck the eardrums of every soldier as they saw lightning. The weird thing was that the lightning didn't strike the Black Pearl, Instead it went up from the Black Pearl.

This made Akainu and Aokiji frown as they felt something bad was about to happen.

The clouds in the sky started gathering as lighting started raining down and destroying everything in the Black Pearl's way.

"Aramaki, stop him using your vines and wood." Akainu commanded.

"Admiral, I can't reach that height!" Aramaki admitted. Although his vines could reach about 100-150 meters, the clouds were way above that height.

Akainu frowned as the destructive lightning rained down on the ice and wood. He watched on for 10 minutes before realising that the lightning was allowing the Black Pearl to sail faster.

Akainu stepped forward and raised his arms. At this point, his whole section started feeling the temperature rise, as he blew gigantic fists of magma into the sky, he continued shooting until he had shot hundreds of them, before he stopped.

Ace and his crew noticed this abnormality, but then nothing happened.

"Captain, that ship, It's Akainu, he shot magma into the sky, what's he doing?" Nami asked in worry as she started the ship.

Ace looked up trying to see.... That's when it became clear. Meteor shower... Made of burning magma meteors, all raining furiously towards them.

They felt the odour of ozone, almost like burning plastic, before JoJo flashed back to the ship.

"Captain, I can't do anything about that." He said as sweat ran down his forehead. He had been shooting thousands of lightning bolts to help as much as possible.

The sky had turned red, as the flaming balls hurried against them.
