Chapter 11 - Love story and A warning

[Third pov,]

Sebastian Fifth Garland started narrating a story again early in the morning, he stood on a platform in the inn as people were having their breakfast, people at the inn had keen ears and paid attention to what

he was speaking.

Enemies and friends came together in the fest and they forgot their hatred and enmity. They join hand in hand and appreciate one another. There is no bad blood during the fest. At times people end up finding their love of life at fests as it gives to others. The fest is like a place where young men and women look for their partners. There is also a rule that if a couple forms a union by marriage then no one can disagree with it. It is the time when everyone is equal and there is no discrimination. And this rule has led to the birth of many mixed races. And mixed race children seem to have stronger power than their parents as they take the powers from both their parents and discover the heights to which their power can grow and co-exist. At times totally different powers come together and co-exist like yin and yan. It has led to the coming of different great generals over the years. So people look forward to falling in love at first sight. There are many great love stories happening in the fest. And one such story was how Head Knife met Sofia. They first got the glimpse of each other at the fest. This is something no one knows of. Knife was drawn to the raw beauty of Sofia and the inexplicable fragrance from her. This draws him closer to her. He just could not avoid her. Her beauty was unparalleled.

Said Sebastian Fifth Garland.

Who is Sofia and who is knife? Asked Elliott.

Knife is a vampire, a very powerful vampire. And Sofia is a petite human.

Sebastian fifth Garland said.

The inn was a two floor building. It has a big dining hall to cater the guests. It was a restaurant on the ground floor. with several guestrooms on the second floor. The name of the inn was Connor Dell inn. Elliott had seen inns in his village as well but they were all small in comparison to this inn. And this inn was decorated with paintings and portraits. As Elliott was looking around the inn he could Hear Sebastian fifth Garland, the old man. He paid attention to what the old man was saying, as he was intrigued by what the old man would say. He saw that there were people who were very tall or very short, some had horns on their heads. Some had skin color like green, blue and it would shine if the light fell on the skin. It got Elliott curious. Elliott was wearing a red shirt and blue pants. He wore the new shoes his mother got him. He was very happy. It was the best time of his life. He kissed his mother several times on the cheeks. His mother was delighted by seeing the glow of happiness on his face.

As he was narrating the story, he saw a familiar yet distant figure passing by in front of the gate of the inn. He rushed outside the door to catch up to him. He shouted " Knife".

But the tall man did not seem to notice and left walking as he hugged a woman and a child was beside her while they walked. It looked like a happy family of three.

Sebastian was getting old and it was a really crowded street so it took some time for him to catch up to the man he was calling knife.

On the other hand, as soon as Elliott's mother heard the name knife, she flinched. She thought was he the same knife she knows of Or someone else? But it is rare to cross paths like this so it should be someone else. She thought so to make her pounding heart relax.

"Hey knife will you stop? I have been chasing after you for thirty minutes now. And I know you know that I am following you, " Said Sebastian fifth Garland.

Now that you know I do not want to see you, then why are you chasing after me? Knife asked, without turning back, but Sofia turned back to see the man who had a familiar voice to someone she knew from the past.

Ah Mr Sebastian is that you? Asked Sofia.

Yes it's me and it seems like you are Sofia? Right? So are you married now? He is your son? Said Sebastian fifth Garland.

Hearing the mentioning of her son, Sofia felt gloomy. Her heart broke into millions of pieces. Raven was her son for sure but she could not forget about her own son who was taken away from her. and she could not do anything about it. She did not get to see her son even once.

Seeing how the color of her face changed suddenly, knife felt a pain in his heart. He wanted to beat Sebastian for mentioning something he shouldn't.

"My son is dead, he is not my son, "said knife.

Sofia hugged Raven and went ahead without the two men. Raven was confused as to what he just heard. But seeing how her mother reacted to his question, Raven thought that he should not ask his mother a question which might hurt her. So to distract her from the agony he asked her to buy him some candies. So they went to a store and bought some candies. They then went to a restaurant to have breakfast.

On the other hand Knife Invited Sebastian fifth Garland to serve him again. And his previous pension will be continued to be given to him and the he would receive a new salary for the new job he was given. As knife thought about what Andrew Charls Vygotsky might be planning, he thought it was better to have a loyal man beside him. He told Sebastian that he had to protect Sofia and spy on Raven. Sebastian was confused about why he was to spy on Raven but he did not question his master. Rather he was happy that he will work with his master again and meet the old butler as the old butler was his friend. They have known each other for a long time. He was excited to meet him again and he had a lot of stories to tell him about his voyages to different countries. He went back to the inn after talking to Knife. He was excited to go back to the vampire estate after the fest.

As he stepped onto the crimson red carpet, his flowing cape added an enchanting touch to his presence. Even mythical beings like the alluring nine-tailed vixens and a shape-shifting snake, which could turn into a beautiful human female, couldn't help but yearn for his attention with a single glance.

Among the crowd, other shapeshifting creatures eagerly awaited their chance to converse with the Vampire King, Andrew Charles Vygotski. The air was thick with anticipation, as each of them hoped for a moment to exchange words with the enigmatic ruler.

While the other creatures found shelter in a meticulously prepared guest house for their stay, the Vampire King resided within the palace itself. This choice subtly underscored his might, a power so profound that not even a human realm king would contemplate challenging.

Whispers began to swirl in the wake of the Vampire King's footsteps, weaving tales that earned him a mischievous smile – a telltale sign of his fondness for adulation. Such gossip not only fed his ego but also vividly showcased his dominance, a quiet assertion that reverberated through the air. Even those of formidable nature hesitated to cross his path, such was the aura he emanated.

Amid an air of anticipation, the Vampire King's chilling smile accompanied his entrance into a specific room, its entrance guarded by the enigmatic code "361." Curiosity gripped all those present, leaving them pondering about the unexpected visitor. The very presence of the Vampire King in such a context was enough to stir intrigue.

A soft echo resounded as the Vampire King's knuckles rapped gently against the door, drawing the attention of curious onlookers who, despite their pretense of nonchalance, couldn't resist the urge to glimpse the scene unfolding within. Their intent wasn't to infringe upon the privacy of the formidable monarch, but the allure of the enigma was too enticing to resist.

The door creaked open, revealing a small hand that emerged and guided the door further ajar. And there stood a young boy, approx 7 or 8 years old, his attire mirroring that of the Vampire King Andrew himself. Even more striking were the boy's light green eyes, twin orbs that mirrored the gaze of the Vampire King himself. A collective murmur of wonder swept through the room – who was this youthful presence that bore such an uncanny resemblance to the sovereign ruler?

In a graceful bow, the young boy began, "I wasn't informed of your presence by Charles," his voice carrying a sense of innocence.

'But I was ínformed of your arrival' …said vampire king king and looked behind the young boy.

As the boy's gaze shifted, his once-light green eyes took on an unsettling intensity, and he turned toward a young man who appeared to be in his teens. This man, known as Charles, bore the distinct appearance of a caretaker, a conclusion drawn from the uniform he wore. Advancing hesitantly, Charles found himself compelled to seek clemency, his actions born out of an evident realisation.

In a heartbeat, Charles could perceive the transformation – the boy's eyes, once a gentle hue, now radiated a deep crimson, suffused with an aura of authority and power. The change was as striking as it was disconcerting, leaving an indelible mark on the unfolding scene.

In a tone laden with an almost suffocating weight, the Vampire King uttered a name that carried a resonance of significance: "Nicole Eren Vygotski." The words hung in the air, evoking a palpable tension that affected not only the ruler himself but also those who stood witness nearby.

An unspoken discomfort seemed to sweep over everyone as the Vampire King's decisive footsteps echoed, signalling his approach. The room's occupants found themselves drawn into an inexplicable sensation of confinement, as if the air itself had thickened. As the sovereign's movement persisted, the young boy named Eren instinctively took a step back, his uncertainty mirrored in the narrowing distance between them.

In a twist of fate, the very moment seemed to bend to the enigmatic forces at play. The door, once open, abruptly closed behind them, sealing the evolving tableau within the room's intimate confines. As the echoes of that decisive sound reverberated, a wave of hushed whispers unfurled among the spectators, a murmuring undercurrent that bore testament to their collective astonishment.

News of the Vampire King's familial connection to a young son sent ripples through the gathered company, each realisation fueling a cascade of speculation.

The revelation appeared to inflict a visible pang upon the shape-shifting vixen, her hurt emotions evident as she began to move restlessly through the rooms, her unease palpable. Whispers and murmurs followed in her wake, her distress serving as fuel for the gossip that spread about the newfound knowledge regarding the Vampire King's son.

"Eren, your behaviour needs refinement," Andrew's voice carried a firm yet fatherly admonishment, attempting to quell the rising tension.

The Vampire King's tone shifted, taking on a more assertive note as he continued, "Exercise caution in choosing your words, and learn when silence holds more weight than speech," his words resonating with an undercurrent of authority.

"Father, I was just…" Eren's voice began, but he was swiftly cut off by his father's unwavering response.

"Not just Eren," Andrew's voice carried a depth of conviction, "The impact of my absence must have been profound, and while I understand your feelings, you must channel them into adherence to my instructions. Your actions and presence with Charles here are not without consequences."

"I appreciate you alerting me about my child's unexpected arrival, Charles," Andrew's voice held a note of gratitude.

With deference, Charles bent down, addressing the Vampire King with utmost respect.

As he glanced downward, Charles's demeanour betrayed his awareness that he had indeed erred – on one hand, the Vampire King might have been appeased, but on the other, Eren, the prince he cared for, wore an expression of discontent.

"Charles, ensure Eren is back before morning," the Vampire King's directive was succinct and unyielding.

"Father…" Eren began to protest, only to be swiftly halted by the resolute words of his sire.

"Any attempt to argue is futile, Eren. You will return tomorrow," the Vampire King's tone carried an undeniable finality.

With a respectful inclination, Charles replied, "Yes, Your Highness." The sound of his response barely echoed before the Vampire King swiftly departed from the room, leaving an atmosphere charged with his formidable presence.

Eren's gaze turned upon Charles, a tumult of emotions etched across his features. His voice carried a mixture of frustration and hurt as he exclaimed, "You swore to be loyal to me, yet your loyalty remains steadfastly his!" The intensity of his words reverberated within the chamber.

"Master, I've reminded you before, and I'll do so again," Charles's tone remained composed, "Loyalty isn't bestowed solely on a whim. It must be earned through actions that prove your worthiness of my dedication."

Eren's voice rose in a challenge, his determination evident, "Wait for that day, Charles. A day will come when you'll be irreversibly bound to me. You'll never escape my side, for you will have become my loyal companion, obeying even if I command you to forsake my father."

Eren turned and exited the room, leaving behind a lingering tension. Charles's lips curved into a faint smile as he murmured, "Perhaps it's best you focus on your own growth, Eren, for that day to materialise."
