Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: How wrong was I?

"Huh? Listen to me. I went to meet Senior Zarin and I asked him why he was acting weird and he told me it's because he wants to be my friend, nothing else. So please stop thinking that there is something weird. " Serena replied.

"But, i also think it's weird." Mandela joined

"Same here." Emily added

"I think you guys should leave that decision to Serena. Let her decide by herself guys and I know that you are just trying to suggest or tell her what is wrong but no matter what you say it is still her decision, right? "

"Yes I guess."

"If you say so."

"What about you, Abigail?" Kelly asked.

"I guess you are right, Kelly."

"Wait....." Serena spoke up. "Is this the reason why you called us here?"

"Yes and apart from that it so that we can just chit chat. " Abigail said and the girls started talking.

...

The next day

Mandela and Serena were in the corridor walking towards their locker when they saw a group of girls gathered around a poster. They went over to take a look. The poster the girls were looking at was a declaration of Zarin's party.

'A fabulous party will be at my house today and you can only be allowed to join the party if you have invitations. Note : There will be invites in specific people's locker. I hope you will be able to make it.' were the words written on the letter.

Immediately the girls finished reading the letter, they all ran to their lockers searching for the invites. Some were jumping with joy when they opened their lockers and others were disappointed.

Serena and Mandela made their way towards their locker.

Mandela opened her locker and was happy that three wasn't any invitation there.

Serena opened her locker as well and saw that there also wasn't any invites and for some reason, she felt disappointed.

"My locker is free from those stupid invites. What about yours?"Mandela asked almost forcing her head into Serena's locker.

"Also free from those invites." Serena replied looking a bit disappointed.

"Are you for real? Wasn't it yesterday that he was saying that he wants to be you friend? And now, no freaking invites?" Mandela looked really angry.

"Just forget it. Anyway, classes are about to start." Serena replied trying to lift the mood.

Mandela nodded and the both of them took their notes and made their way towards their class.

...

After classes, at the cafeteria

"Serena, why do you look so sad?" Kelly asked when she saw that Serena looked upset and because she hadn't said a thing to the whole time.

"Senior Zarin is throwing a party and didn't give her an invite, that's why." Mandela answered the question for her.

....

"Did you guys hear? Serena didn't get an invitation from senior Zarin and yesterday she was acting all proud. I'm sure that her pride is now shattered."

"I know right. Our Georgia got an invitation. I'm sure you guys can see the difference between Serena and Georgia."

"God, and I was thinking senior Zarin might have a crush on Serena. How wrong was I?"
