Mrs. Catalan moved back until her body hit the wall behind her. She stared at her daughter with eyes as though she was questioning who the woman standing in front of her. Despite knowing what Sophia meant, the woman disagreed. She said strongly, "No. We are not betraying Count Arthur."
"We aren't betraying him," convinced Sophia. "I just want her to trust me, if you call Count Arthur here, Estelle will lose all her trust in me."
Mrs Catalan was nervous. More than fearing the idea of betraying Count Arthur, she seemed more fearful of the repercussion of having Estelle in their mansion which could instead brew them more trouble than they already can handle.
On the other hand, seeing her mother whose lips had turned thin and pursed, Sophia didn't waste any time and left her mother's side. She rushed to write the quick letter to Lord Magnus, to whom she felt regretful on having to write a letter to.
