The anger on Old John's face was clear. Too clear even that her skin felt as if it had been scalded by the smoldering fire. She could only stare in fear as her body shuddered. She moved forward, "What did he do to my mother?"
Old John gulped as if saying what happened would defile his tongue. He said with a hesitation, "Your mother wasn't kept in the mansion as she wished. At first she did loved Arthur but she gradually found out his obsession with her blood line. She had you but I didn't think it was consensual. There was a night when she was apprehended by the other knights for running barefooted to the gate late at midnight as if she was running away from something. She was dragged back to the mansion of course. With the house full of knights, how could a mere lady escape?"
