Estelle's eyes brightened and widened. She didn't know that Grandpa John had been sentenced to death and she didn't know he would soon be put to the scaffold. Her fingers trembled. One bad news after another was enough to set her into a spiral. Seeing her expression, Magnus raised his eyebrows, looking at her with a frown as he seemed to have made her condition even worse.
His fingers raised, touching her chin that gathered her attention. She could feel warmth spreading over her bottom lips as Magnus tried to bring back the red color from her pale lips.
"Don't worry, I won't let it happen until you see him," Magnus gave his words, for the first time giving a promise to other person as he usually wouldn't. "Meanwhile, will you be staying back in the mansion?"
