Small fluffy curls of hair stood in front of her. Elle watched the two heads with a bright smile on her lips. With gentleness, she rubbed Lucas's and Marcie's head. It was an action that she loved the most: ruffling their hairs and playing with them.
She felt their head turns around her but instead of the adorable little smile they had shown to her it was scarlet tears forming rivers underneath their eyes. They raised their hands, the small fingers grabbed to her dress and smeared the blood all over it.
"Why Elle?" The small sobs slipped from Lucas' mouth. A certain anger had curled his childlike face, sending her shiver. The mute rage made her guilt rose to the tip of her tongue. "Why did you leave us?!"
A loud gasp escaped from her lips. Like someone who had just been drowned and finally able to catch oxygen back to their lungs, Elle's pallid face was drenched in horror.
