Elle could hear Magnus sounding nonchalant but his words were somehow sharp and his red gaze was narrowed slightly. It was as if he was trying to pull a look of nothingness when in truth he was curious of her relationship with Tieran. Elle hummed and she thought about it. If she had to put her relationship with Tieran it would simply be a friend of the same situation. She couldn't even call him a friend confidently, only seeing him as colleague who needed each other to survive. But was that a good enough reason for her to turn a blind eye to his impending death?
"No," Elle replied, "I care about him only to some extent. He saved me before so I will return the favor. But if I have to say about our relationship," she drawled and felt Magnus's intense gaze, "I would think it's rocky and nothing too friendly."
Magnus seemed to have bloomed a smile hearing this as his eyes turned crescent, "Really?"
