Lucius took a deep breath, trying to steady himself before he spoke. "Seraphina, I want you to calm down and relax before I tell you this. I'm not human."
Seraphina's eyes widened in shock. "You're not human? Then what are you?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"I-I am what you humans call a... Demon," Lucius confessed, bracing himself for her reaction.
Seraphina was left dumbfounded, unable to process the revelation. Her mind raced with thoughts, and she could hardly find the words to respond. "If your feelings are not the same after this, I'll understand... Are you okay?" Lucius asked, concern evident in his voice.
Still in shock, Seraphina managed to whisper, "Can I be alone?" She needed time to comprehend everything she had just learned.
"Sure... I'll sleep in the guest room tonight," Lucius replied, respecting her request.
As Seraphina lay in bed, her thoughts were in turmoil. The realization that she was married to a demon, someone she had grown to love, left her heart in disarray. She tried to sleep, but her mind was restless, and she found herself staring into space, unable to find peace.
Meanwhile, Lucius moved to the guest room and prepared to sleep there for the night. Asmodeus noticed the change and taunted him, trying to provoke a reaction. "Why? Your wife kicked you out of the room?" Asmodeus mocked.
"Stay out of this... It's none of your business," Lucius coldly replied.
Asmodeus continued to taunt, "Yeah, it's not my business that your wife is in love with me."
Enraged, Lucius gripped Asmodeus' hand, trying to burn him with his demonic power. "IF YOU EVER TALK ABOUT MY WIFE AGAIN IN THAT MANNER, I'LL MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A NICE BATH IN SERAPH'S POOL... WON'T THAT BE COMFORTING?" Lucius threatened, his eyes burning with fury.
Asmodeus withdrew his hand, not showing pain but clearly affected by the threat. He walked away, acting nonchalant, but Lucius knew that he had struck a nerve.
Back in the guest room, Lucius lay on the bed, lost in thought. He wrestled with conflicting emotions, torn between his love for Seraphina and the burden of his demonic nature. He couldn't help but wonder if he should reveal the truth about the sacrifice plan, or if there was another way to protect her.
The next morning, Lucius woke up early, determined to make things right with Seraphina. He searched for her in their room and the palace, but she was nowhere to be found. He asked the maids, who also hadn't seen her. Worried, he decided to ask Asmodeus, who was still asleep, but even he didn't know Seraphina's whereabouts.
Finally, as Lucius was walking in the garden, he spotted Seraphina holding a bunch of flowers. He approached her and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yes... Why?" she replied, trying to hide her emotions.
"We were looking for you everywhere. We thought you went missing because of last night," Lucius explained.
"I understand you're not human... You were born that way... It's not your fault. Are Prince Asmodeus and the king demons as well?" she asked, seeking to understand more.
"Yes, they also are," Lucius replied.
"Ok... Whatever you are, demon, angel, human... I'll still love you for who you are," Seraphina assured him with a smile.
Lucius couldn't help but smile back, relief washing over him. He pulled her into a warm embrace, feeling grateful for her understanding and acceptance. As they hugged each other, he thought, 'I can't tell her about the sacrifice plan. I'll find another way. It must not be her.'
As they embraced, Asmodeus watched from a distance, jealousy consuming him. "I can't lose Seraphina," he whispered to himself, determined to win her heart.
