Chapter 29 - 29, Family Time

John dabbed his bleeding nose and wondered how he could train and earn money.

He couldn't enter Fetal Breath or meditate anymore.

His only option was the "Spirit Emperor Mudra" postures from his dream.

They were complex and impressive, but useless without meditation.

Meditation was the key to "inner strength and mental method". Without it, martial arts were just flashy and futile. But he hoped the "Heart Dream Sutra" postures would have some benefits.

As he practiced, he sensed the hidden secrets of the "Spirit Emperor Mudra". Even without meditation, it was far superior to Boneless Jiu-Jitsu.

He moved his hands and fingers in various ways, creating different effects: thunderous, gentle, graceful, and powerful.

He got tired and fell into Deep Sleep again.

But this time, no dream came.

John realized that the Phantom Fox's spiritual power had only unlocked the Heart Dream Sutra's secret once.

He woke up an hour later, feeling fresh and clear-headed.

He showered and cleaned his clothes and sheets. He practiced the Boneless Dragon Dance from Boneless Jiu-Jitsu. His body was flexible and strong, like a flying dragon, with unpredictable movements. He had reached the peak of body techniques.

The fight with the gangster "Phantom Fox" had inspired him. He had tapped into his survival instinct and gained valuable benefits and experience.

He also drank a dozen tubes of Green God's biological potion to satisfy his hunger and restore his life potential. He hoped that it would heal the damage from his previous Fetal Breath.

He was amazed by his improved physical fitness.

He could perform many "Boneless Jiu-Jitsu" moves with ease, especially the final one, "Boneless Dragon Dance". It felt natural to him.

His bones, tendons, cells, and organs had all become stronger and more efficient. He had mastered the five moves of Boneless Jiu-Jitsu.

He was confident that he could beat his brother Tedd.

But he still lacked combat experience.

Selena knocked on the door and entered John's room.

"Brother, did you skip class today?" she asked.

"No, I was in class. I just got back." John lied. "Sister, come here."

"What's up?" Selena followed him curiously. She saw the receipt on the table and gasped. "Green God biological potion? 500 stars a tube? What did you buy?"

"Shh…" John hushed her. "Don't tell mom and dad. I took a job to help the police station find a gangster. I got lucky and earned some rewards. Here, give me your student card."

"Wow." Selena handed him her chip. He swiped it and transferred 1,000 stars to her account.

"One thousand stars! That's a fortune…" Selena was speechless. "I… I can buy so many things with this." She only got eight stars a month for pocket money.

"Keep it a secret from Mom and Dad, and spend it wisely." John whispered. "Buy things that will help you train, and don't waste it."

"Thank you, brother. You're the best." Selena hugged John and kissed him. "I want to be like Tedd, and become a star in school."

John smiled and nodded.

He didn't mind helping his sister train. He had planned to share some of his earnings with her anyway.

The family had a pleasant dinner together.

John's parents, brother Tedd, and sister Selena chatted and watched TV. John loved the atmosphere and wished it would never end.

"Brother, how's your Samadhi?" John asked Tedd.

"It's tough." Tedd said. "I'm practicing ancient Buddhism, yoga mudra, mind-body control, cosmic alignment, and thought suppression. I also do mantras, prayers, and worship…" He put down his bowl and made a gesture. He clasped his hands into a big fist and lifted his head.

John felt his brother's presence, like a solid mountain, with a subtle aura in his soul.

He compared it with the "Spirit Emperor Mudra" and learned something.

He didn't know the meaning of the "Spirit Emperor Mudra" gestures yet. He just copied them. He sensed that he needed to meditate on the Brain of the Universe to master them.

But he couldn't meditate without bleeding from his nose.

"Eat up." Dad Jason Walter tapped his bowl with his fork…
