Chapter 209 - No One Wants Me

As my vision cleared, I found myself asking, "Where am I now?"

Taking in my new surroundings, I noticed nothing but a vast expanse of snow, punctuated by a solitary, snow-laden tree. The night was in full bloom, with the sky painted by countless stars and a radiant moon. I trudged through the dense snow, my feet sinking with every step, until I encountered a young girl.

She looked no older than 7 or 8, tears streaming down her face as she cried out, "My parents are gone, my brother abandoned me, and no one wants me."

Kneeling beside her, I gently patted her head. "You know, life can be tough. Be strong. Nobody owes us anything, okay? Goodbye and take care." I stood up, ready to move on. I had no time to console her; I needed to find a way out. Besides, I wasn't the type to get involved in situations like this.

As I continued to navigate the endless snowy expanse, searching for an exit, the little girl reappeared before me an hour later.
