Chapter 21 - Chapter 18: Pride

48 hours has elapsed since William set out to claim the bounty placed on Obaka , however, his determination to capture him caused him to to be restless.

"Young lord, it's been two full days since you slept. You need to rest". Said one of the Mages.

"Silence, Ferze! I will not sleep until I find him". William brushes the rest of the Mages off with a hand gesture to leave.

"Instead of pestering me , care to explain why you came along ? You're our General Knight and you know my grandfather wouldn't approve of this".

"Where ever you go Prince William, I shall follow. I gave an Oath to protect you. Use me as you see fit". Ferze responded.

I still remember that fateful day … when I was just a useless and defenseless girl…. But then the young Prince showed up… He saved me and everything changed when I arrived to Austria. There were no more restless nights with savage men trying to have their way , no more nights of hunger. It was the first time I started to feel like I belonged in this world… it was the first time that a male did not objectify me .

"Just remember, it's my skin that he'll be getting if he finds out that you snuck away to assist me. I will not let you get injured in this fight". William said, tossing Ferze an apple.

"Young Prince, we've pick up the Orc's trail again! Just a little further towards the West and we should be able capture him then". One Mage said , talking out of breath.

The rest of the Mages gathered as they prepared to take on Obaka.

"You must first rest , you need all your strength young lord". One said.

William ignored the advice and kept advancing West of the lands. "I will not rest … I am Sir William and heir to throne. Prince of Austria , the best of best , the one who even surpasses his father , I shall not be outclassed by this behemoth. I will have his head" .

William laughed uncontrollably for a minute and while he laughed the eldest Mage grew weary of his well being. "You're just like your father … your pride will be the end of you one day young lord and I won't be there to save you".
