Ade tilted her head, frowning. "Even if you say that, as your friend, it pains me to see people backstabbing you."
"I've grown quite immune to gossip and backstabbing, honestly. Besides, I don't think the King and Queen actually care about who I like or don't like," I countered, offering her a reassuring smile.
"But, tell me the truth, do you genuinely not care about what others say, or are you just saying that to make yourself feel better?" Ade pressed, scrutinizing me closely with a furrowed brow.
I chuckled at her question. "I even punched Theodoric the last time I had a fight with him. I really couldn't care less."
