On a cold crack of dawn, Luna and Beth walked outside her house.
"Do you really have to go all by yourself, Luna?" Beth questioned, her voice tinged with worry as she handed Luna his white bag filled with items and necessities.
Luna took the bag that was handed to him, wore it, and gave a cheerful smile to Beth. "Yes! I have to; I don't want my parents to wait too long for me to arrive," Luna said cheerfully.
Beth's eyes welled up with tears. She didn't want to let go of Luna, knowing that she had become attached to him. She was also worried that something bad might happen to him when she would take her eyes off him. Although she did her best and insisted that he stay as long as he needed, Luna remained resolute in his decision to go north and reunite with his parents.
"I really don't want you to go, Luna," Beth sobbed.
Luna gave her a hug and cheerfully smiled at Beth. "Don't cry, Aunt Beth! I'll visit you again when I grow up!"
