It was truly amazing how people mastered different fields. From craftsmen to academics to warriors. A life spent specializing in one field truly showed the limits of what man could achieve.
Connie was not a fighter, nor could she build anything. What she could do, however, was manipulate public opinion. It was a skill on which politicians and the media built their livelihoods. And Connie knew how to use it well.
A normal person had his own brain and therefore his own opinion. Apart from the fact that most of the time they didn't seem to. Much like in sales, only amateurs force an opinion on a potential customer.
Unless it was done in large numbers, people would normally detect attempts at manipulation and react accordingly. Only the dumbest sheep blindly accept everything. Those with brains would do their research before making a decision.
