The principal had decided to get involved with what was going on in the school hallway. It was his duty to coordinate the students, ensuring fights like these didn't get out of hand and that such students would be punished for breaking the rule. However, after finding out that the fight was still going on at the time he found out, he decided to get involved with things himself.
He thought it would be best to personally deal with these students who choose to break the rule.
Meanwhile, Stacy was standing alone in the classroom, her hands lightly touching her neck as her breathing pattern gradually normalized. She was still in shock from what had just happened, and her eyes were still fixed on the window through which the other student had exited the classroom.
Now that she was alone, she decided to head back out and report what was going on to the school principal, but it was then that her eyes met his in the hallway, as he slowly approached the scene of both students fighting each other.
'Wait, what's he doing here?' she asked herself, her gaze shifting from him and get friend. 'Is he here… to stop the fight himself?' she thought, her hands shaking.
Without saying a word, he dashed forward, swinging both of his arms out as black beams of energy shot out, heading straight for both Maya and Kevin. He was the first to notice this, as he was able to move out of the way, just in time before the black beams made contact with his body.
"What the-?" His sentence was cut short by a swing towards his face. He was able to dodge the strike just in time, though barely as the fist nearly made contact with the top of his nose. With his heart beat increasing rapidly, his eyes fell upon the face of the person who was attacking him.
'The principal?!' he screamed in his mind, regaining his footing as his feet began to tremble. 'Now the principal has gotten involved in this?' he thought, thinking of what he could do now to help himself out.
The principal came in for another swing, this time with his legs as he leapt from one part of the hallway to another, closely following Kevin's movements as his blow connected with the sides of his arms which were raised to block whatever strikes he would inflict on him.
Having been in a fight prior to this encounter, and being outclassed, Kevin aaw no way of winning this fight. Moreover, it was clear that the principal wasn't doing much to try and win the fight. He was mainly just pushing Kevin closer to his limit, patiently waiting for the student to run out of Mana before finishing him off.
'Why the fuck did he even decided to get involved in my fight?!' Kevin screamed in his mind, feeling a blow to his ribs, causing them to buckle and crack, blood spewing out from his mouth from the effect of the strike.
The students who were still present and watching the fight, had mixed feelings as to what was going on. Although not everyone present was in support of the two students fighting, no one could openly admit that what the principal was currently doing to their number one student was terrifying, to say the least.
Having to defend oneself against someone who is leagues above you, isn't something most people even have the guts to do. Though what other choice did he have in his current situation. To him, he would rather go down fighting than willing allow himself be beaten to a pulp.
"That's it! Take this, principal!" He yelled, pushing both his hands forward. The glow in his eyes intensified the more, much to the principal's surprise as a beam of flames shot out from both his hands, heading straight towards the principal standing not too far away from him.
"Is he really planning on taking out the principal?!"
"That's impossible! The principal is far stronger than any of us. Even if Kevin is really strong, there's no way he's stronger than the principal!"
"Oh please. Wanna bet on that? I'm sure he can win this fight against the principal!"
Everyone was talking about what was going on as the principal moved to the side, avoiding the blast and letting it hit the wall, creating a loud explosion as the wall was destroyed and dust spread all across that area. Fortunately, there weren't any students near that area, meaning none of the students were harmed by the careless attack.
Seeing that his attack had failed to hit his target, Kevin was infuriated. Another bright glow began to surround his arms the next moment.
"If that attack didn't hit you, then maybe this will!" From his elbows down to his fingertips, a bright yellow flame could be seen covering his skin, making it practically invisible as both his arms glowed with his bright yellow flames. On his face, a wide grin could be seen as he quickly sprinted towards the principal.
'What's this?' Stacy asked herself, looking back and forth between the school principal and Kevin. 'Are these two really going head to head? But how is that even possible? And what about Maya?'
Looking around, it wasn't long till she found the person she was looking for, lying unconscious on the ground a safe distance away from the fighting. It was a good thing that one of the students felt pity on her and decided to drag her body further away from the fight.
She wasn't unconscious, but in her current state, she was barely able to move. Kneeling down in front of her, Stacy's eyes welled with tears as she hugged her best friend tightly, mumbling words under her breath as she struggled to speak out words as they would oy end up coming out as coughs or sons.
Eventually, she found the strength to say what she wanted to say.
"Maya, why on Earth would you even agree to date a jackass like Kevin?! Can't you see what he's doing? He's busy attacking the principal like it's some sort of sport. Heck, he put you in this condition simply because you chose to stand up for me!
"Why would you even let someone as terrible as him into your life?!"
Most of the times, Maya would do the best she could to dened the person she loved. However, now, hearing her best friend's words, and seeing her boyfriend in front of her fighting against the principal, everything around her began to feel weird and foreign.
It was like she was looking at life from someone else's body.
The onlookers were wondering how long the match would last. It was already made clear that Kevin was the stronger high school student, but the fact that he was now able to keep up with the principal was something that was truly shocking to a lot of them.
They were wondering just how come he was this powerful, abd whether or not he had been like this for a while, or if it was just a recent spike in his power that made him this way. No matter what it was, majority of the students were rooting for him to win, having a strong hatred for the rules and regulations the school forced upon them.
Watching them fight, it was like watching him represent their collective desire for more freedom in the school building.
Closing the distance between himself and the principal, Kevin began to swipe his claws in all sorts, hoping that he would be able to land a solid hit pn his opponent. However, the principal was able to dodge all of his attacks, while managing to land a number of blows of his own on different parts of Kevin's body.
He gripped his chest tightly, having been pushed back by a kick to the chest, as blood trickled down his mouth and his eyes looked almost bloodshot from the severe beating he had received. Still, despite all his injuries, it looked like he had a lot of energy left to keep on fighting.
"You're quite strong," Kevin commented, wiping some of the blood from the side of his lips. He stared down at his fingers, at the blood that was dripping towards the floor. A smile formed on his face as he opened his mouth to say something else.
"I can see why I needed that powerup."
In the blink of an eye, he had disappeared from his position. Raising up his arm, he had caught a fist arriving just a few inches away from his face. His eyes wide open, he could see a student on the other end of the strike, his teeth clench though with a wide grin on his face.
'This boy, what kind of power does he have?' the principal thought, dragging the fist towards his body before delivering a punch of his own, though the student was somehow able to free himself from the principal's grasp, moving a couple meters away from the man.
'It's quite obvious that a boy of his caliber should be in the military academy, but also he's not yet old enough to attend. Still, I wonder, how on Earth is he so powerful?'
