Chereads / Beast Driven System / Chapter 36 - Punishment

Chapter 36 - Punishment

Dan and Marcus could feel a constant pressure coming off this large man. Seeing the scar on his face, and his muscles bulging through his uniform, it made both of them tremble in fear. Then, their eyes panned towards the students before him. Their bodies we're laced with deeps wounds and bruises. Their faces looked deep purple, perhaps from the number of times they had been punched.

"That's it! I'm getting outta here!" Marcus yelled, making a beeline towards the exit, however, the military man had suddenly appeared before him, blocking his only means of exiting the room. Glaring down at the blonde-haired student, he gritted his teeth in anger.

"I will make sure that all of you will face the consequences for your actions!" he yelled, grabbing Marcus by the throat, before chunking him back into the centre of the room, crashing against the floor. "Today, I will make you my special project, Blondie," he said, stepping forward.

That night, neither of them were allowed back to their dorm rooms for the night. It was stated that the students here would spend the entirety of two whole weeks in this room without going anywhere else. It was akin to prison, except for the fact that it involved more excruciating punishment.

This military man was apparently an instructor as well, and he was not only here to make them learn a lesson, but to also teach them as well. Unlike the others, he seemed to be more well round in all the forms of training the other instructors would teach. Early in the morning, he would teach them the various Aikido forms, then he would more onto the abilities class. Although no one really knew what his ability was. He was still able to teach them about their abilities just s well as the other instructors, despite not having a similar ability as them.

Later on, towards the end of the day, they would be taught on how to properly use beast weapons. He enlightened them on the fact that beast weapons, also known as magical weapons, worked on the principle of energy flow. Whichever direction the energy flows, determines which body produces the greater power, whether than be the weapon itself or the user.

Dan was making sure to pay close attention to the instructions. Meanwhile, Marcus couldn't stop thinking of a way to get out without being spotted by the instructor.

Although everything seemed to be going fine, Dan was beginning to wonder why this man was so dangerous in the first place. For the entirety of the day, he hadn't laid a single hand on anyone of the students present. He was even starting to believe that what he had seen when coming in the night before was merely a misunderstanding.

The day had finally come to an end, and everyone was done with working hard. While Marcus and Dan were doing what they could to settle in for the night, everyone else was looking quite restless. A boy with short green hair looked at the two newcomers resting peacefully on the floor, and couldn't help but shake his head while chuckling to himself.

"Everyone assemble!" the man yelled at the top of his lungs, causing they newcomers to jolt awake. Panicked, they darted their eyes all across the room, only to see everyone else assembled before someone. Before they could even react to what was going on, Dan felt a powerful kick to his jaw, causing his lower jaw to bash tight into his upper jaw, shattering most of his teeth and even cracking the bone of his jaw. The shattered teeth had pierced both his upper and lower jaw, causing him extreme pain as he began to bleed profusely.

"Didn't you hear my command?!" the man then delivered a kick to the side of Marcus's body, breaking his ribs and sending him flying straight to the wall. As his body made impact, the sound of more of his bones being damaged could be heard by everyone present, it wasn't long till he had lost consiousness.

The military man's eyes began to twitch uncontrollably. Grabbing both students by the hair, he chucked their bodies in front of the other students, causing some of them to take a couple steps back in response.

"You! Shock these two awake!" he ordered, pointing at one of the other students. Startled, his body began to shake non-stop, however, be wasn't about to disobey a direct order from this man, so he began to concentrate and summoned his ability. As his eyes glowed with a bright blue colour, sparks of lightning went forth from his hands, enveloping the bodies pf both students, causing them to scream out in pain.

Lightning was quite a powerful ability, and in the hands of a talented individual, it could deal serious damage to a person. While both students were slowly recovering using their Mana, this sudden surge of pain had interfered with their healing process, bringing them out of their unconsciousness.

"Stop!" the man gave out a second order, and the student immediately stopped what it was he was doing. Now that they were both awake, the man grabbed them both by their throats, glaring at them in the eyes with his face still twitching, his nose and forehead crinkled from anger.

"Listen to me! Both of you! While you're here, you will listen and obey me! Whatever command I give to you, you are to obey them immediately and without question! It that understood?!" the man yelled, fighting his grip around their necks slightly.

Not being able to speak, all they could do was nod their heads frantically, although they could barely moved their heads in the first place. They had their hands gripped tightly against the large, almost iron like arm of this large man.

"Very well," the man said, letting go of both of them, allowing their bodies to drop you the floor before turning his attention to the others.

"In this place, none of you will have any names. You all will be addressed based on the time you had been sent here. You two behind me, get up and light up with the others before I beat you up again!" the man ordered, and before anyone could begin to think of what might happen next, both Marcus and Dan had gotten off the floor, although they could still feel a large amount of pain across their bodies, they did their best to ignore it as they quickly staggered their way forward to line up with the other students.

A few of the students began to laugh at them, sharing side talks and whispers while throwing quick glances at them. They were both too beaten up and bruised to care about any of that as they just wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible.

During the course of the day, Kayden had tried his best to focus on the other classes, but, his mind just wasn't there. These past week and few days at the academy seemed to have been enough to brake his morale. He couldn't even bring himself to fight properly during the combat class.

Later on, at the abilities class, he had noticed how he was the only one in the mystery class division today. Confused, he turned towards the instructor, who just looked disinterested as usual, before telling him to follow her towards the Arena for today's simulation training.

Once he had entered the large space, he was considering going against the instructor's orders and finding out where they were being kept. However, he wasn't willing to risk getting into trouble himself just to find them. And even if he went ahead with that idea, what could he really do against the staff in this academy? Even the academy's nurse was rumoured to be strongest than every other student at the academy.

And so, he decided that he would just have to go about today's simulation alone. Standing in the centre of the room, his surroundings began to change, and almost immediately, he found himself standing in the last position he was before the simulation was cancelled yesterday. However, this time, he was completely alone. The adventurer they had met last time was no where to be seen, and the Rea was completely devoid of beasts.

Realizing that the Adventurer's Guild was too far away for him to decide to head back on foot, plus the fact that he could encounter another beast horde on his way back, he decided to head back in the direction of the cave, before continuing to travel in that direction. He had no idea here he was heading to in the first place. He was just hoping that it wasn't someplace that was far too dangerous.

While thinking about all of this, Kayden couldn't stop wondering about the fact that he might one day have to go to this planet for real and face all these dangers. And with the way things were, how would he be able to cope and adapt?
