Beth sat on the edge of the bed. She had planned this and didn't want to leave Deen with any other options. So, she made sure that she had taken away everything in the room other than the cots. Thinking that it was easy enough to say that the children could use them, or it was to make sure the room that they were going to be in had more room. Deen looked at the bed and then down at the cots noticing just how flimsy the things looked. At first, he just stood there looking around and feeling a little uncomfortable. Now that all the kids were in the other rooms leaving just the two of them together. Deen saw that the doors had been pulled shut but not locked. He remembered the look on Sadie's and Tommy's faces as they left the room.
Deen was not sure what he did to make them look at him so intently, but it was making him a little uneasy. It was like they thought that he was going to hurt their mom or something. As far as he knew he was just there to protect them all. At least that was his plan.
Deen's thoughts were interrupted as Beth patted the bed beside her and said, "Why don't you come over and have a seat so we can talk a bit?"
Deen glanced at the cot knowing that it looked pretty weak, so he took a seat on the bed making sure that there was enough space between them.
As he sat down Beth had been hoping that he would have sat closer to her. It was not like she wanted to do something with him, or she wanted him to do something with her. Especially since the kids could walk in on them at any moment. It was just that it had been so long since she had any real company.
As soon as Deen was comfortable sitting there Beth asked him to tell her about himself. Part of her wanted to learn everything there was to know about him, but more of it was that she had been longing for someone to talk to and listen to.
As she listened, she found that she had been missing this for so long. Her husband had never really listened to her. He didn't find anything that she was saying worthwhile, it was always so boring and unimportant. Since he had been doing all these bad things that he was not proud of. It left him little to nothing to talk to her about what he was doing. She had tried numerous times to fill him in on what she and the kids were doing but with glazed-over eyes, he would only listen a little before wanting her to be silent again.
All that was different now Deen was new to her, and she just was in heaven just having someone that was going to listen to what she was saying. Not only that, but she could listen to everything that he had done and what he was feeling. Everything was so new and exciting.
At first, Deen was a little uncomfortable sitting there, but once they started talking. He saw that she was needing someone to talk to more than just someone to fuck. They talk for hours but even as time passes Beth is still fascinated by everything that Deen has to tell her.
After talking for hours Beth offers to go make them some tea. Deen nods and lets her know that it would be great. Beth goes and makes the tea returning with a small plate of snacks and the tea. She made sure to sit close enough to him to feel the heat coming off his body. She knows that he will have to smell the perfume that she has on. Since she had made sure to put some on for him.
Deen shakes his head as he notices that she has moved closer to him as she returns with the tea and thinks well at least she didn't try to sit on my lap. Just shaking his head, he doesn't say a word and just lets her sit there with a huge smile on her face.
Deen thought to himself that he could have guessed that she would do something like this but most likely that is all the farther that she would go since the children were right there.
The night passes quickly as they talk and drink their tea. Before Deen realizes it there is a knock on the door. Tim made his way there to start his shift not expecting that Beth would still be up drinking tea and talking to Deen. Deen welcomes him in as Beth realizes just how late it has become. Seeing the time Beth knew that Deen would have to be going. As soon as Deen was leaving Beth started feeling just how tired she really was. It was like talking to him had kept her energized.
Before Deen left, he made sure to remind Beth to see Bill. Saying Stan said that he would be the one covering the money for both of them.
Beth nodded that she would remember it and go see him in the morning after she woke up. That would be something that she does before she goes to pick up the dress for dinner with the governor.
Beth showed Tim where the kids were and the food that they had made earlier. As soon as he was set up Beth got a little sad that he was just going to be there as everyone slept, but she just guessed that was the nature of being a guard.
Beth slipped under the covers and felt a little weird with him sitting on the cot. He was trying to stay silent as everyone slept. She knew that it was not her job to entertain the guards. She needed her sleep too, and she figured that he had to know what was going on. Especially since he had selected to do it on this shift.
Tim gave her a nod and goodnight as she put out the light by the bed, only leaving on a night light by the door. Tim had a little light so that he could sit there and read there was not much else that he could do sitting there, he knew all he had to do was just keep watch until he was relieved by Alex.
Tim selected this shift with the intention that he was not going to be bothered. That way he could get paid while he still shouldn't have to do anything but stay awake. He didn't really care if anything happened to the woman or the kids. But it was taking care of the favor that he owed to Deen and getting paid at the same time, and that suited him just fine.
At one point Tim heard a noise out in the hall. Deen had told him that he needed to check out any noises. Especially if it sounded like they were trying to get into the room across the hall. Tim heard a noise and at first, he just sat there not wanting to get up. But when he heard something again, he quietly went to the door. He opened it a crack not wanting to be noticed if anyone was watching.
The hall was dark with only a few lights that were not lighting up all that much, but was enough to see that there was no one there, but not much else. Tim stood there for a couple of minutes looking out, he figured that he would rather stand there instead of having to get back up. If there was someone there who was just hiding or was out of sight at this moment.
Since nothing was there, he went back and sat down making himself comfortable. Tim made sure to make a better effort to listen. Just to make sure that there was nothing going on.
Hours passed by and to Tim's delight nothing more happened. The whole time he was there with a huge smile he was pleased when Alex lightly tapped on the door. Alex made just enough noise for Tim to hear him he did not want to wake the others. Tim let Alex in and showed him everything that Beth had shown him. Tim noticed the look that Alex had on his face when he showed him the room that the girls were in. Tim just shook his head thinking that he was glad that he didn't have any girls around here with Alex around trying to look after them.
Alex gave Tim a raised eyebrow and a wink. Tim just shook his head more. Those girls were way too young to do anything with. Except Sadie, witch was not interested in doing anything with guys that were their age. Looking at Alex it didn't look like he cared if they were old enough or for the fact of the matter it didn't look like he took the girl's wants or feelings even as a consideration.
Tim looked over at Beth who was still sleeping and wondered if he should wake her just to let her know that Alex was there. He was not sure if she or her daughter would wind up with him slipping into one of their beds. He knew that was not really his problem, but he knew that it would save Deen some trouble. It would make sure that he only had to worry about the 8 hours that he agreed to. Instead of the possibility of it becoming a 12-hour shift if they had to do without Alex.
Tim called out to Beth and at first, she didn't move but as Tim called out the second time, she moved but didn't seem to want to wake. Tim walked over to her and as he reached out and touched her shoulder Beth jumped.
Tim laughed a little at her reaction and said, "Beth, Alex is here, and I am leaving now."
Beth cleared her eyes and nodded okay.
Beth sat up as Tim walked out of the door. Tim thought that Alex was her problem now. He had let her know that he was there, and it was up to her to deal with it from now on.
At first, Beth thought that Sadie was up when she first saw Alex from behind, she was about to tell her to get started on breakfast when she realized just who it was.
Beth stopped herself from saying anything just in time to not say it. She had to admit the guy had great hair. Beth shook her head and grabbed the second outfit that she and Sadie had put together for her to wear. This one she was going to be able to wear undergarments. At this point, she did not care if the thing was showing pantie lines or not anyway.
Beth gathered everything that she was going to wear and started to go to the end of the hall to the bathroom, but then she remembered what happened the last time she was in there. Beth wondered if it was going to be better to take Alex and have him stand outside the door or if she should have him stay in here with the kids.
Beth thought that if it was Deen she would have not only wanted him to go with her but not just stand outside the door. With the way he made her feel she would have wanted him in the shower with her. Beth shook her head trying to free her mind not that it was helping all that much, but it was clear enough that she asked Alex to come stand outside the bathroom door while she showered.
Alex got a smirk on his face as he thought that Beth was being like so many others who had simply asked to be guarded just as an invitation for him to come and join them for sex.
Beth was still thinking about Deen in the shower blushing to even realize that he was smiling like that. Alex saw her blushing and took it as a sign that she was more than ready for him to join her in a more private setting where the kids would not be able to see them.
Alex nodded to her and gave her a wink that she only half noticed but even though it didn't register to her she only took it as if he was ready to watch over her.
Alex followed her to the end of the hall and to his surprise Beth pulled the door closed in front of him. Then he just thought that she wanted to get ready before inviting him in. He waited till he heard the shower running then he tried the door, finding it locked.
Alex didn't understand what was going on. So, he double-checked the door to verify that the door was locked. Then thought that it was alright that she was a little too old for him anyway, or maybe she was just trying to be a tease. After all the daughter was a lot more appealing to him anyway. But that wouldn't stop him from doing either one or even both. If the opportunity presented itself.
The shower gave Beth a chance to clear her mind and figure out just what she wanted to do for the day. As she showered, she started getting a little nervous. Beth knew that she was going to be seeing the governor, and she could try and get him to pardon Rodger, or Stan if she wanted to. She was not sure he would, but he did have the power to do it if he wanted to.
A chance like this never really came around for her usually. While the water cascaded over her body. She had to sort out her emotions and think about what was going to be best for her and her children.
Beth felt sick to her stomach thinking about this. There was no reason to help Stan other than he was giving her money. So that she would basically not go see Rodger and leave him to rot in there. She doubted that if she helped get Stan out it would help her at all, in fact, once he was out, he could simply stop giving her any money altogether.
Beth knew without a shadow of a doubt that if she helped Rodger out that Stan would not only not give her any money, but would then be out to hurt her and her kids to punish her. Not to mention that with what Rodger did there was no motivation to help him. He had shown that he no longer loved her and even if she helped him get out, he would just be another mouth to feed until he could find some kind of work to do.
Beth started feeling a little dizzy, the stress of all this was getting too much. As the water started changing temperature she knew that she was going to have to get out. While she was drying off she thought about the things that she was going to have to do today seeing the Pink bra and panties she knew that she needed to pick up the dress but she wanted to go see Bill first the attorney should have the money from Stan and she wanted to get it before he changed his mind.
So, it was settled that she would go find Bill first before she would get the dress. She supposed that she could do the job for the butcher before getting the dress. She figured that it would be better to do that even before she tracked down Bill. When she got the cash, she didn't want a bunch of guys following her around to where she could wind up losing it.
Beth finished doing her hair and makeup and as she stepped out of the door, she noticed that Alex was on his knees in front of the door. A shutter ran through her, and she just shook her head. She was not sure what he was doing, and she was not going to ask. She figured that he was looking through the keyhole, but she didn't even want to think about that.
Alex gave her a wink as he climbed to his feet and she just thought you pervert. She would make sure that she would tell her girls to hang their towels on the door handle when they shower. She would make sure that Tommy would go with him when the girls were in there as well.
She would not have let him continue watching them except there was no way to talk to Deen to arrange anything different. Even if he was a pervert, he was better than nothing all she had to do was keep the kids together and they would be fine. At least she was hoping that was going to be the case. At least they would know where to go looking first.
Beth found herself hoping that the kids would get up on their own and make breakfast. She would tell the girls all to shower at the same time so that Sadie could help the others.
Beth felt a little bad pushing more on Sadie, but her hands were tied. If she was going to have time to get everything that she needed done. Beth figured if things worked out right she should have more than enough cash to take care of her and her kids.
Beth was relieved to see both Tommy and Sadie both started breakfast and the others were dressed and sitting at the so-called table waiting patiently to get their food. Beth said, "Alex why don't you have a seat with the kids while we finish it all up."
Alex had a huge smile on his face he loved being served and he made sure that he sat where he could sit and watch them cook. Beth saw him and could tell that he was staring at both her and Sadie's asses. Beth was not happy, and she used the time that she was cooking with them to let them both know what he was like and what he was doing.
Sadie was shocked that he was doing it but in the back of her mind, she was flattered and a little turned on by it. Beth was a little shocked by her reaction. Beth could tell that she was liking it and in fact, she seemed to be sticking her ass out a little more and it looked like she was wiggling it when she didn't need to.
Beth said, "Sadie you stop that. He doesn't need any encouragement."
Sadie looked up at her shocked, she had not even realized that she was doing anything. Beth mouthed to Tommy to keep an eye on them while she was gone.
Tommy nodded, he knew just what she meant, and since there was something about Alex that was rubbing Tommy the wrong way anyway. It was not going to be hard for him to break things up before they got started.
Beth gave him a smile and a little hug for looking after things for her. Beth helped finish up cooking the meal. They really had a good time eating it, it seemed like something that she had always wanted, but they never seemed to be happy like this. It was not the man that she wanted sitting there eating with them, but everyone was happy smiling and having a great time. Most importantly they were getting their fill.
It felt so wonderful she almost felt like crying. Beth watched as her kids had a blast with this stranger. The emotions were almost too much for her to handle. This was all she ever wanted was for her family to be happy.
Beth felt the sadness in her thinking of how many years things just never seemed to be right. Even if her marriage was over at least the kids would be happy and she would have a chance to start over even if she was old.
Beth helped with the dishes after the meal not wanting to leave it just to the kids. Leaving strict instructions for Tommy and Sadie mostly to watch Alex with the others.
Once she was finished with the dishes, she knew that she had to go get started. To be on her way to start her day.
