Gina gasped as the door suddenly opened with a bang. She was just praying that it was Katie, but she was thinking that it was going to be Will or Snow. She thought that surely, they would all be busted.
Gina held her breath as they made their way through the doorway. Katie came through the door bursting out laughing as she knew that pushing the door hard would freak out Gina and she would think that she was in trouble. Gina knew that it was all just done in fun, but she was not finding it all that funny. Gina would not have found that so bad if she hadn't been so worried about Katie getting caught. Then Gina saw Mia giggling at her and knew that Mia had been just as worried about it as she had been. Gina stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry at both of them. Leaving them all giggling and Tug just wondering what was going on, but he did like seeing all the girls there and laughing and having fun. Even if he felt like they were getting behind with the meal.
It did not take long for Gina's face to take on a serious demeanor. She had already delayed the meal as long as she could, and now they needed to get it cooking fast. As Katie looked around, she figured out what Gina had planned on making. Katie knew this was not something that she normally would do, but Katie figured that it was because she wanted to drag things out giving her more time.
Gina said, "I didn't think that you were going to make it back in time..." Gina trailed off as she got a good look at her from behind and saw that the back of her dress was tucked into her panties. Gina was not sure what she had been doing for sure, but she had some ideas based on how she looked and how messed up her hair was now.
Gina went over and whispered into Katie's ear that she needed to fix her dress and her hair really quickly before anyone could see her. Katie blushed as she felt the back of her dress but then smiled as she remembered how it got that way. Katie looked at her reflection and saw how bad her hair was looking now. Katie knew if she would have just been staying in the galley like before. She would not have worried about her hair at all, but now she knew that she was going to have to go into the captain's mess and eat with all the others. Her hair would be a sign that she was somewhere that she was not supposed to be, and doing something that she was not supposed to be doing.
Katie shot a look to Gina and Mia for help. Gina knew just what that was all about and said, "Mia why don't you take Katie back to our room? She needs a little help, and you know how we are not supposed to separate. And you both need to hurry back we are going to need the help soon."
Gina looked at the time and she knew that it was running out fast, but since Tug had been working so hard, they were going to be able to pull everything together. A thought hit Gina out of the blue it was Mistress Snow's words, "No matter how good the meal was. It was not going to save her if she was caught without the others again."
Gina thought surely that couldn't mean that they had to stay in the same room when they had to potty and everything. At least she could say that they had to go back to the room really quick and Mia went with her so that she was not alone at least she had Tug to protect her here. All Gina knew for sure was she was going to be happy when the others would make it back so they would all be together again.
The aroma quickly filled the galley as soon as the first of it started cooking, drawing the sailors from whatever they were doing to the galley if they were not on duty. It happened just like Gina had thought it was going to, but the only good thing was that Katie knew exactly how long everything was going to take to cook. Gina knew that Katie and Mia would be back in plenty of time. So that Gina could concentrate on cooking and explaining to Tug.
Mia was nervous once they started back to the galley there were so many sailors gathered around. If Katie had not taken her by the hand, there wouldn't have been any way that she could have passed by all those men without freaking out and running away and hiding.
Katie knew that Mia had a hard time dealing with men being close, but she didn't realize it was this bad. Katie gave her hand a firm squeeze and said, "Come on they need our help, and it is not that far."
Mia looked up at her with tears streaming down her cheeks and desperately held onto Katie's hand. Afraid that she was going to let go and just leave her behind as something that was no longer wanted or needed. Mia knew the way that she was feeling was now getting worse than it was before. She started thinking it was because now she did feel love and family. She knew that there was no way that she was ever giving it up.
Katie was on a super high feeling Jake had reawakened parts of her that had been cut off by all the sadness that she had been feeling. She had forgotten just how great he made her feel when they were together. It wasn't that she forgot everything, but it was like when Gina had come up missing. She felt like she had to be punished. Now that they were all back together, she could finally let it all go. Katie's face was flushed, and it was from the way that she was feeling, and what she was thinking about. Katie knew that everything was feeling so much more intense for her now. Katie was glad that she had a hold of Mia's hand. It felt like she was floating, and Mia was keeping her grounded. Katie knew that Mia was struggling. She was trying to do what she could to help, but she was just so excited about everything that she was going through. She was having a hard time relating to her.
As they drew close to the doors of the galley Katie felt a twinge of guilt knowing that she had not been there to help cook for the second time. She knew that she needed to step up and help it was not fair to Gina that she was having to do it all.
Once they were in the galley away from all the guys Mia became more like her old self, but Katie could tell that she really wanted to be a lot closer to Gina. But was unable to because of the cooking that was going on. Katie put on an apron and dug right in helping it was not long till they were plating all the dishes.
Tug noticed that even though it took a little more work making the marinade, and then letting the meat rest in it to absorb the flavors. It seemed to make things take longer, but it gave even seasoning, and there was not as much stress. All you had to do was just cook things after they came out. Tug knew that he was going to like working with it even though it would take more time to make things finish.
Katie had started focusing on the plating of the dishes that had finished allowing Gina and Tug to be able to concentrate on finishing cooking the last of it. Will came in the door to see the girls working hard and the food smelled great. He couldn't help but let out a little smile that he quickly hid.
Will said, "By the smell and the line that has formed I was thinking that the food was ready."
Katie smiled up at him and said that she was just finishing the last of the plates and she was glad that he had come to help carry them.
Will looked her over and could tell right away that something was different than when he had seen her earlier. As he looked over at the other girls it was not that hard to see the differences. Her hair was different, as well as the outfit she had on. The one she had on now made her look older than the other girls. It looked like she was at least 4 years older than the others. This was just what Will had been afraid of when the captain had first asked them to come along and join the crew. He knew part of the men were not going to look at them like young girls anymore. They were women and that would start the crew to try and fight over them.
Will could see that she was happily smiling from ear to ear. It was great to see her smiling he had noticed out of all of them it seemed like Katie had the most on her mind, and she had not been all that happy since she had been back on the ship.
In just a few minutes all the food had been plated and between the girls and Will, it only took a couple of others to carry all the plates down to the table.
