Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Beginning (1)

His life was blessed with prosperity.

He got everything he wanted.

He mastered many knowledge and skills.

He has many people who rely on him.

He has many people who trust him.

He got the attention of others.

He has a nice occupation, even though sometimes it is tiring.

It is truly a blessing to whoever is in his shoes right now.

It was truly a great life he had been living until now.

He had lived in the luxury of a world that demanded perfection.

So why can he only see darkness below?

"Tsk."

He looked below in the darkness. His legs were not shaking at all, nor did he tremble in fear.

He had made the decision, and nobody could stop him from doing whatever the hell he wanted after this.

Right? Nobody will care anyway if one person vanishes from this world.

This world is just full of mischief.

Full of lies and fakes.

He looked up at the night sky, which lacked any stars or moon. He chuckled.

"They are hiding their light even at this moment for me, huh?"

He shook his head, making his black locks gently sway by the wind. He feels cold, but he feels the most relaxed in his entire life.

"Suck to be me."

The cars are passing through on the road right behind him. Nobody pays attention to him, nor do they intend to know why a man is standing behind the bridge's railing.

Maybe because it is a common occurrence for people here to find peace by standing in this obviously dangerous place? Surely he will find his peace later on.

So why is he babbling nonsense right now?

Talking to himself does not really bring any fun.

Anyone would agree with his sentiment, or would they not?

He then looked at his attire. All black. Is it because of his all-black attire at night that no one notices that he is standing here?

He shrugged at his own thought. Who cares? He just hoped he did not wake up after this meeting with a white ceiling and the smell of medicine.

He hates that place.

He took a deep breath.

Preparing himself for what he wanted to do in the next minute. When the clock finally hit 12 o'clock.

Is he happy right now?

Or does he feel sad?

It's complicated. He is someone who does not even know what he feels at certain moments, to the point that he is being misunderstood as emotionless.

Maybe he is, maybe he is not. What he knows is that he is capable of feeling He is not a robot, mind you! His body is made of flesh and blood. Purely human, no doubt. Well, it will be a different case if his parents are some kind of creature in the fantasy stories. However, the earth on which he lives right now is a normal earth. Yes, normal, just like anyone lives in. Is there another earth? Sure, the scientists have already discovered another planet that has the same ecosystem as this one.

So, would you give up the opportunity to live on another planet if you had the chance?

Nah, he wanted to die. Not living another life. What else is he doing by standing outside this railing? To make a commotion? Well, that's certainly quite interesting. The way people and reporters would swarm at him. He could use the ruckus to gain 'his' attention, right? Or it will just be the same, with him being ignored again.

'What would he think if he got the news about me?'

What a total waste of time. Why would he want to know when he had been abandoned so long ago? Pathetic, clinging to an affection that has not belonged to him from the start or even since he was born. Does the man ever love him?

Again, he reminded himself. He is here to do something important. Not babbling or talking nonsense to whoever is listening to him. Eh, he just hopes no one is capable of knowing his thoughts. His thoughts are full of embarrassing secrets. He is easily swayed by his own thoughts.

Look now. What even is he talking about?

Again, he said, Suck to be me.

'I can't even control my own thoughts, huh? How do people usually control them? Just thinking? Well, I am thinking. Then how the hell would I get off track when I am thinking? It's not like I have something better to do anyway; that's why I can't sit still. Wait, wait. At that time, I almost lost track when I thought of the new artists that went viral. I'm about to take the documents to the department manager. Hmm, yes, then I got lost in another room. It sucks because my virgin eyes had been tainted by those two makeout sessions in the pantry. It's a damn pantry, not a bed! Urgh, I can still remember their moans. Wait a minute, I lost track!'

He shook his head many times. Damn! How the hell did he do that? Yes, it is a normal occurrence for him.

Bip! Bip! Bip!

He flinched and looked at his pocket. He took out his phone from his pocket before he slid the screen downward to turn off the alarm.

12.00 a.m.

He tossed the phone downward.

'Goodbye, my 4 to almost 5 year old smartphone.'

He can't even see the phone anymore after it has been consumed by the darkness. But he could hear the vivid sound of splashing.

Well, it looks like it's time.

"Right. Time to fulfil my own desire."

Without waiting a second and without hesitation, he let his body fall. The bridge is high, so making his free fall takes time. However, something caught his eye in a split second when he fell.

His eyes caught the sight of a person doing the same act as him. He blinked, and the next second, his body made contact with the sea. The shock of suddenly being in the water makes him freeze. He tried to breathe but consumed salty water instead. He did not struggle to make his body resurface; he just let his body fall into the water.

'Hope the shark will eat me after I have died.'

He closed his eyes when he couldn't see anything anymore. The darkness slowly consumed him. His lungs filled with water. It's painful. But the pain would not last, he thought.

Everything will be over.

'Goodbye, world full of mischief.'

"Please!"

A sudden light penetrated his eyes. Too bright for his liking. A small voice could also be heard.

"Please!"

He abruptly opened his eyes and was met by a young boy. The boy is illuminating the light. His mouth opened wide because of shock, and more water came inside.

'What the—!?'

"Please! Help me!"

'What the hell is he saying?! What language is that? Kid, I am dying here!'

"Help me change my destiny!"

He wanted to ignore the nonsense. It must be because he is short of breath that he is beginning to hallucinate right now. His brain does not receive much oxygen, so it started to make this kind of hallucination. Yes, that's the reason.

But he can't close his eyes. His eyes are fixed on this kid, whose face is full of desperation.

"Don't let anyone die."

Confusion hit him, but he chose to ignore it. Ignorant is bliss, people said.

"Cherish your new life."

The silhouette of the boy slowly dissipated. Leaving him in the darkness of the sea again. He also started to lose consciousness. He did not even pay much attention to the boy just now because it was just his imagination. Maybe he just saw a water ghost. It must be a new trick by them; who knows?

'Let's hope this is the end.'
