Ranna Magatur Backstory 🐻❄️
The political climate of Wudeli has always been tricky due to an ongoing race war between humans and beastlings. Humans first migrated to the continent over two thousand years ago, this was because of a vampire crisis in Solum which created a mass migration to any other available land, before arrival to Wudeli the humans hadn't witnessed a beastling before and they feared the prowess they possessed in the same vein they feared the vampires they were running from thus the humans banded together creating towns, villages and cities then forming armies to defend them as well as suppress the native beastling population which after a thirty year struggle they did the beastlings had lost their home and began living in the forests.
The beastlings had no concept of countries until the humans defeated them as seven countries came to be formed on Wudeli Ansik, Ascarr, Heeva, Ikini, Onira, Rekka and Undus with six Kings and one Pope due to Rekka being a theocracy. Before the humans arrived the beastlings were divided by clans and each clan had an alpha the clans were divided as wolves were with wolves bears with bears lions with lions and so on but it didn't matter which clan you belonged to the humans treated each the same with unadulterated violence. After they were forced to the forests each of the clans became displaced and began overlapping this was when the beastling decided to create their own country with one alpha leading all beasts they created the country on the biggest peninsula on the continent beyond Mt Vega where the beastlings now currently reside this country was named Lycera due to the first true beastling Alpha being of the wolf clan.
The country of Rekka is situated by Mt Vega and assisted the beastlings providing safe passage under the guise of being helpful and portraying a forgiving nature when the agenda was simply to isolate the beastlings on the peninsula. After confirming the majority of beastlings had moved construction began, mages were tunneling through the mountain to the other side and a fort was built in the middle of the tunnel and the mountain to maintain security and to monitor the beastlings the mountain paths were all destroyed making the only safe path through the tunnel and the fort.
The humans and beastlings were locked in this stalemate for almost two millennia until the rise of Ranna the Red. When the first conflicts broke out way back when humans first arrived the some of the bear clan decided to flee by braving the open waters and ended up in the north continent of Kalltund a desolated icy tundra region where the species adapted and after time evolved to the polar bear variant making them tougher, bigger and faster than the normal bear beastlings and enabled them to survive and due to the lack of humans in Kalltund they lived for a long time but natural disasters were still a threat such as avalanches also other native creatures such as Trolls, Goblins and Imps did prove a challenge and dwindled the population down, by the time Ranna was born him and his parents were the last remaining polar bear beastlings they died protecting their young cub from an ambush by Goblins. They used the last of their breaths and told Ranna a tale each of their parents before passed down of their original homeland of Wudeli and how it was attacked by humans and how they wished to return one day.
Ranna knowing he was the last of his clan made his way south still a cub he was in no way prepared for the journey and he found this out pretty quickly as he only travelled three kilometres from where he left his parents and collapsed from exhaustion. When he awoke Ranna met Lazar who took him home. Despite being advised against it Lazar decided he was to be adopted and Ranna became the Prince of Pinoro the most western country in Solum. Ranna proved his strength and rose quickly to a position of power within Pinoro, his goal never changed to free the beastlings from the control of humans he had grown fonder of human due to the birth of his younger sister whom he adored and promised to protect forever but he held no love for the humans on Wudeli and with Lazars permission he travelled to Rekka to establish a diplomatic relationship between Pinoro and the holy kingdom. It was during this visit he first visited Holy fort Vega and witnessed the deaths of beastlings who tried to gain passage to the continent first hand.
Holy fort Vega was a relic and over a thousand years old at this point and has withstood the test of time until now. Upon seeing the deaths of his beastling comrades Ranna who was in his Royal military dress suit in human form transformed into his full polar bear form and was at least 18 feet stall standing on his hind legs destroying his pristine clothing and entered a frenzied state killing priests, soldiers and bystander alike his strength nothing alike any of the beastlings ever before him he single handedly destroyed the fort leaving no one alive to tell the tale.
He returned home with his white fur stained red expecting Lazar to be furious with him but because the fort was gone the beastling began marching through Mt Vega and war broke out on Wudeli this gave Lazar a way in to try and expand Pinoro through the conflict instead Lazar smiled and looked at Ranna's state and dubbed him the Red.
