As they emerged from the inner part of the forest and reached the outskirts, relief washed over the team, thinking they had managed to survive the ordeal. However, their hope was short-lived as they encountered a terrifying sight – an ogre devouring the corpse of a battle boar. Fear gripped them again as their eyes met the menacing gaze of the ogre. They knew they were facing an "A" rank monster, one that was targeted for immediate subjugation due to its potential to breach city walls.
Realization hit them hard; there was no way they could take on the ogre, not with their current strength. Only four advanced aura knights could handle such a formidable foe. Unfortunately, Sir Gale, the only one capable of facing the ogre on his own, was away at the academy. Panic set in as they understood the gravity of the situation.
Vina, their leader, screamed one word – "Run." In the face of imminent danger, it was the only command she could give. They knew there was no time to devise a plan or form a formation. Their only option was to flee for their lives. Without hesitation, everyone scattered in different directions, hoping to outrun the monstrous threat.
Kavin and Kaizen found themselves running together, following Ark and Vina, while the other four members went in a different direction. The decision to split up was a double-edged sword. On one hand, it meant the ogre had to choose which group to pursue, giving the non-targeted group a chance to reach the instructors for help. On the other hand, the group being followed had little hope of survival.
As fate would have it, the ogre chose to follow Kaizen's group, including Kavin. This massive creature, with its immense strength, plowed through the forest, showing no regard for the trees that stood in its path. The trees broke upon collision with the ogre's shoulders or when kicked by its giant feet. Though lacking in speed, the ogre's long strides were enough to catch up to the tiny humans running for their lives. In a desperate attempt to impede their escape, the ogre uprooted trees and hurled them at its prey, aiming to block their way or cause injury. Fortunately, the thrown trees mostly missed their targets, but their luck soon ran out.
A piece of wood ricocheted and struck Kavin's knee, causing him to fall to the ground. The pain was intense, and he felt the muscles tearing inside him. Kaizen immediately stopped and rushed to support his injured friend. Kavin knew they couldn't outrun the ogre in this state, and he made a heart-wrenching decision to buy them some time. He urged Kaizen to leave him and escape while he diverted the ogre's attention. He had already accepted his impending fate and was willing to sacrifice himself to ensure his friend's safety.
However, Kaizen refused to leave his friend behind. Even if he wanted to flee, it was too late to escape the ogre's pursuit now. The Ogre had already appeared right behind them . The tension reached its peak as the ogre's enormous hand lunged toward Kaizen and Kavin, ready to snatch them in its deadly grip.As they saw the Giant Hand Approach they had Already accepted their deaths .
However, their fate took an unexpected turn as Ark, displaying unwavering bravery, intercepted the ogre's hand just in time, saving them from imminent doom. Struggling to hold back the ogre's immense strength, Ark urged Kaizen and Kavin to seize the opportunity he had provided and escape while they still could.
Despite Ark's selfless act and encouragement, both Kaizen and Kavin found themselves frozen with fear. Their legs refused to move, numb from the overwhelming terror that gripped their hearts. Kaizen, filled with gratitude and confusion, mustered the courage to question Ark's decision to come back and risk his life for them. In response, Ark, still struggling to fend off the ogre, explained that as a knight, it was his duty and pride to protect his juniors and lead them to safety.
The ogre, growing impatient with Ark's resistance, unleashed a powerful strike that sent him flying, crashing into a nearby tree. Despite Ark's use of an aura shield to lessen the impact, he suffered severe internal injuries from just one attack. Yet, even in his weakened state, Ark defiantly fought back, using his own abilities to deal a blow to the ogre.
As the ogre turned its attention fully to Ark, Kaizen bit his lower lip to induce a pain and regain his senses . Kaizen's legs finally found strength, and he moved with determination. He carefully placed Kavin under the shelter of a tree and drew his sword, ready to stand against the terrifying monster.
But before kaizen could jump in to help Ark he got stopped by a hand on his Shoulder , he looked behind and saw it was Vina and The other two 4th year knights trainees who had separated before . Vina Asked Kaizen to take Kavin away from the Field.
Kaizen felt a mix of relief and gratitude as Vina and the other two 4th year knights joined the battle against the ogre. It seemed that the 4th year trainees had devised a plan - they sent the two 3rd year trainees to seek help from the instructors while they stayed behind to assist their friends. With a newfound sense of hope, Kaizen obeyed Vina's instruction to take Kavin away from the field to safety.
Meanwhile, Vina and the other knights skillfully positioned themselves at different angles around the ogre. They executed a synchronized attack strategy, striking the ogre from behind each time it turned to change its target. Their goal was to keep the ogre off balance, making it run in circles and constantly switching targets. This way, they hoped to buy enough time until the rescue team arrived.
Though the knights managed to land several successful blows, it became evident that their attacks, while relentless, weren't strong enough to pose a real threat to the ogre. Nevertheless, they displayed remarkable teamwork and resilience, using their combined strength to wear down the massive creature.
