As Erik, Cindy, and Wanda fought relentlessly against Ego's endless army, two identical figures stood silently at the top of Ego's core.
The only difference between them was subtle: one had glowing blue eyes fixed on the battle below, while the other kept his eyes firmly shut.
"Can you see them, Parasite?" The one with open, glowing blue eyes said, "I cannot believe you were right. Even while facing all of ME, they're still not only alive but they're even planning their counter-attack."
The one with closed eyes scoffed, "And I cannot believe that the arrogant and egotistical Ego complied with my words. Well, I guess even the weakest celestial has a basic survival instinct."
From the way they were talking with each other, no one would believe if someone said that earlier these two entities were trying to devour each other's existence.
Ego snapped back, "Weakest?"
"You don't get it, Ego. As long as I have my eyes closed, he won't be able to use his most dangerous powers. And without his that, his power isn't even planet-level." Parasite exhaled, "Yet, somehow, he's holding his own against you. You really are the weakest. You would have died in a second if I hadn't intervened. But I suppose that's to be expected the bastard was able to kill the Greatest fragment of bright light after all."
Ego clenched his jaw, unable to respond. He hated the truth in Parasite's words. That dark purple cloud of power was terrifying, and if Parasite hadn't intervened, Ego would've been annihilated.
What's more, once Ego gave the Parasite partial control over his body, he somehow also gained immunity against Mantis's powers. While Mantis's powers were helpful for him, he didn't think that his enemies would mind control her to use her against him.
But still...
"But still, the advantage I have over him would end in a few minutes when his army that's digging its way here finally arrives." Ego pursed his lips.
"Don't worry, Ego. The moment his army arrives, he will walk into his own demise. Till then keep on swarming them, don't let them near the core, and chip their stamina bit by bit." Parasite replied with a smirk.

"Let's give them hell," Cindy said with determination.
'Seven more minutes, huh...' She repeated in her mind as she gazed at Ego's endless army swarming them again, from every direction possible.
"Cindy, stay close to me," Erik said as lifting a large cluster of earth soldiers off the ground.
With a flick of his wrist, he compressed them into a dense ball of debris and hurled it into another advancing group. The resulting impact shattered them into dust, clearing a temporary path through the chaos.
A sudden barrage of earthen pillars erupted toward him. Erik leaped into the air, carrying Cindy with him, his Spider-Sense guiding him through the onslaught.
Mid-flight, he unleashed pyrokinesis, sending a wave of scorching flames downward. The intense heat melted the pillars into harmless puddles of molten earth, leaving the battlefield smoldering beneath him.
Suddenly, a massive mud soldier, tens of times the size of the others, emerged from the ground, charging toward him.
'The giant might be sturdier than the normal soldiers, ice spears or fire attacks might take a bit longer to destroy it.'
Erik stood his ground, focusing his Optic Blast.
Cindy, who was being carried by him like a princess, dipped her head to avoid the scorching heat from his eyes.
Twin beams of energy erupted from his eyes, cutting through the giant like a hot knife through butter. The golem crumbled, collapsing into a heap of molten glass.
But that wasn't the end of course hundreds of more giant mud soldiers started to form. Not to mention thousands of normal-sized ones.
"Erik, mind carrying me in a piggyback? This position is kinda dangerous for me." Cindy said a little nervous seeing the destruction his eyes caused.
Erik chuckled relaxing his hold, Cindy crawled to his back just like a spider would on his prey. She locked her arms around his neck and legs around his waist, which Erik found oddly endearing.
"You didn't have to worry tho, Cindy." Erik laughed as he created hundreds of giant ice spears above his head in an instant, he also charged them with explosive kinetic energy with his telekinesis, "I am never gonna let anything happen to you."
The ice spears shot out in all directions, clearing the area around them. At least for a few seconds.
"Wanda, come here. It's about time!." Erik called out to his earpiece.
This time a giant even bigger than the last started rising from the ground, however, a streak of crimson light cut through the air, crashing into the towering giants.
The massive soldier disintegrated into molten earth as Wanda landed gracefully, her Crimson Chaos Energy crackling around her.
She walked toward Erik and Cindy, her ass swaying with an effortless seductivity.
A sleeping Mantis floated behind Wanda, surrounded by crimson fog. Surprisingly, she was useless in this battle. Not what Erik had told them at all. 'Trump card, my ass.'
Anyway...
"Why's Cindy sticking to you like that?" Wanda asked nonchalantly, her tone teasing but her sharp eyes taking in the scene.
Cindy tilted her head, realizing she hadn't given much thought to the situation. She'd called Erik for help earlier, and somehow, he'd just started carrying her ever since. She did change the position earlier on her own tho.
'I mean, he doesn't literally have to carry me like this—I can fight just fine on my own,' she thought. Out loud, she shrugged. "Don't know," she replied simply, avoiding Wanda's smirk.
Wanda giggled, glancing between them.
Erik, unfazed, grinned mischievously. "Hey, this isn't about wanting to feel her boobs pressed against my back—trust me," he joked, his tone light but playful. "This is a crucial part of the plan to take down Ego and that mysterious entity. Really, trust me!"
Cindy's cheeks flushed, and she gave him a light smack on the back of his head. "Focus, you idiot!"
Before anyone could say more, a deafening crash echoed through the chamber as a massive hole formed in the ceiling above them. Roars, metallic screeches, and unearthly growls filled the air as Erik's Chitauri army burst through.
Thousands of chariots swarmed in, carrying armed soldiers, while massive leviathans slithered through the opening, their monstrous forms dwarfing even the giant mud soldiers below.
Cindy grinned, her confidence restored. "Finally. Our army's here."
Wanda nodded, a satisfied smirk playing on her lips. "Yeah," she said, her eyes glowing crimson as her hands sparked with chaos energy.
The tide of battle was about to shift.
"The tide of battle is about to shift. At least that's what the foolish bastard should be thinking right now." Parasite grinned.
